Job Context:
∎ Duty Station : Dhaka
∎ Grade : 3
∎ Reports To : Project Manager
∎ Duration : Fixed term until December 2022, subject to funding, with strong possibility for extension
∎ Overall purpose:
∎ The Project Officer will provide day-to-day support to the Project Manager and other members of the project team, ensuring smooth practical operation of the PRIMED project activities. He/she will also contribute to general administrative and operational support needs within the BBC Media Action Bangladesh office.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Co-ordinate and manage the day to day running of the project, assisting the Project Manager to ensure that all aspects are completed on time and within the agreed budget.
∎ Assist the Project Manager to manage the project budget, exercising a degree of judgment to ensure that financial targets are met.
∎ Support to identify risks and issues that threaten the successful delivery of the projects and work with the Project Manager to propose solutions.
∎ Assist in writing monthly, quarterly or annual progress reports of the project and other documents needed to ensure the reporting and development of the project.
∎ Work closely with project personnel and consultants for timely delivery of the deliverables to Project Manager.
∎ Lead the administrative and practical organisation for all project events, internal and external.
∎ Work with the BBC Media Action administration, finance and HR teams to ensure that the project follows all procurement, contracting, travel, editorial and other policies and processes.
∎ Ensure that paper and electronic filing systems related to the project are appropriate, accurate and regularly updated.
∎ Co-ordinate and drive editorial and administrative sign-off processes for project deliverables.
∎ Provide administrative and operational support to the Project Manager.
∎ Any other tasks commensurate with the role as assigned by the line manager

∎ Experience of a range of administrative work, with a demonstrable ability to co-ordinate and drive administrative processes in a project setting as well as ability to manage / organise events E
∎ Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships at a range of levels E
∎ Good organisational and time management skills, with the proven ability to prioritise, work independently and maintain attention to detail E
∎ Good knowledge of project management processes & techniques. D
∎ Good written communication skills, in English and Bangla E
∎ Well-developed IT skills, including Microsoft Office E
∎ Understanding of administrative and financial compliance in a project setting E
∎ Understanding of basic safeguarding principles, with the ability and willingness to adhere to BBC Media Action safeguarding policies and procedures E
∎ Experience of working with TV/radio/online production processes and an understanding of compliance requirements E
∎ Experience of collaborative working, with the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders and partners D
