Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ Project Officer- Inclusion will provide services by mobilization of local resources and apply HI approaches for the inclusion of children with disabilities and other vulnerable children, Capacity development of community volunteers, parents and caregivers and promote inclusiveness in practice of relevant child development service providers.
∎ Main internal interfaces

∎ 3.Regular coordination and cooperation with other Project Officers in GT

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective 1:
∎ Planning and Implementation of field activities
∎ a) Prepare periodic (weekly and monthly) work plan of the activities;
∎ b) Supporting implementation of the field activities by ensuring innovative and effective approaches;
∎ c) Participate in baseline study along with other team members for identification of children with disabilities through house to house survey and assess sport, leisure activities and education opportunities and challenges of beneficiaries in the target areas;
∎ d) Prepare training module, support parents & caregivers to develop early learning toys and material with local material & tutorials, provide support parents, care givers; provide training child care center, Volunteers and school teachers on inclusive sport and education;
∎ e) Ensure appropriate tools in place to monitor outcome of the interventions;
∎ f) Facilitate participatory project evaluation and support missions, and implement the recommendations/findings in form of lessons learned and best practices.
∎ g) Follow up of services with the beneficiaries' home, schools and playground by regular and frequent support visits;
∎ h)Work for functioning of child clubs and parent's clubs.
∎ Objective 2:
∎ Documentation and Reporting
∎ a) Ensure submission of good quality reports as per agreed and defined timeframe.
∎ b) Set beneficiary selection criteria and select beneficiaries in consultation with appropriate personnel;
∎ c) Identify project stakeholders and ensure necessary formalities towards agreement taken place in line with project objective;
∎ d) Ensure that records and reports of beneficiaries are disaggregated by age, gender and disability (if any);
∎ e) Prepare event reports of different sessions in the project target areas and follow up action plans reflecting in monthly action plans;
∎ f) Support Team Leader to ensure compliance of implementation of HI's PME policy (timely monthly reporting, quarterly reviews, production of significant case studies, lessons learning exercise, etc.);
∎ g) Support Team Leader to provide feedback on the implementation and ensure timely discussions on any challenges encountered while involving relevant persons/departments.
∎ Objective 3:
∎ Team Management
∎ a) Prepare job descriptions and validate recruitment of community workers;
∎ b) Prepare Individual Action Plans of each community worker to reach defined goals and evaluate the same;
∎ c) Guarantee the access for the team to methods, technical aspects useful for the project implementation (training, documentation);
∎ d) Plan, prepare and organize regular team meetings;
∎ e) Capacity building and support community volunteers/ child care centre/clubs in organizing regular inclusive sport and leisure activities including including sport, art, awareness-raising and cultural events for all
∎ f) Monitor project activities, check quality implementation and follow-up children files on need assessment for inclusive education and sports;
∎ g) Carry out appraisals of community workers.
∎ Objective 4:
∎ Networking and collaboration
∎ a) Maintain close coordination and collaboration with relevant child development service providers and local authorities or focal points.
∎ b) Ensure project beneficiaries are attended in the necessary services existing in the areas;
∎ c) Represent project as assigned in different forums and share updates/learnings;
∎ d) Build network with concern stakeholders i.e. Upazila education department, Upazila sports association, Upazila social service department, schools, training institutes;

∎ •Work experience with vulnerable children in ECD, sports or education.
∎ •Proven ability to advise on disability/vulnerability issues is desirable
∎ •Experience in humanitarian context, preferably in the field of social participation or rehabilitation is preferable;
∎ •Experience of working in remote community setting is an advantage
∎ •Have capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders and clients
∎ •Strong team work approach
∎ •Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh
∎ •Women candidate with expected competencies will be preferred for this position.
