Job Context:
∎ To have oversight and coordinate strategy and implementation of activities of the Flood Resilience Project in Bangladesh.
∎ To ensure coherence and effectiveness in influencing to achieve change objectives of the Flood Resilience Project.
∎ The focus in Bangladesh is on ensuring effective, efficient and transparent planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and communication across the practical action project team - in line with the requirements of the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance (ZFRA).
∎ The post holder must effectively coordinate, focus and communicate the work in order that achieve our stated outcomes. The post holder must properly harness available capacity of organization and improve efficiency in our ways of working to deliver high quality results.
∎ The post holder will have oversight and responsibility for coordination with the UK and other country teams as well as alliance members in Bangladesh towards achieving the global outcomes of the floods resilience project. In coordination with different experts within Practical Action he/she should represent the project to alliance members and externally as required.
∎ Common objectives of the global Floods Resilience Program that project in Bangladesh should contribute
∎ Increased and more effective financial investment in flood resilience.
∎ Improved global and national policies for increased ex-ante action for flood resilience.
∎ Improved practice in flood resilience by stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans ( both physical and financial) for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document,
∎ Ensure project Monitoring, Reporting and Learning in line with the Zurich Floods Resilience Alliance system and Practical Actions organizational requirements, ensuring SMART indicators, regular monitoring, reflection and project strategy review when necessary, communicating changes to relevant staff involved in the program.
∎ Support preparation of and review financial reports of program in conjunction with the respective units and team members.
∎ Technical leadership of the Floods Resilience Measurement for Communities (FRMC) approach in Bangladesh - including the design of gendered interventions to build climate resilience where we work.
∎ Coordinate with expert groups of Practical Action to deliver agreed knowledge outputs for sharing project learning with beneficiaries, partners and to influence policy makers.
∎ Develop and strengthening networks of peers and professional contacts outside the organization.
∎ Organise meetings, workshops and other information dissemination events with different stakeholders to achieve influencing objectives, in particular on the FRMC approach and evidence generated.
∎ Establish or adhere to existing office ways of working to ensure project information is regularly communicated to the Management Team in Bangladesh.
∎ Maintain working relationship with alliance members in Bangladesh and elsewhere (as required) to ensure effective knowledge capturing and policy advocacy.
∎ Coordinate and collaborate with other country teams and alliance members under the global Zurich funded Floods Resilience Programme on learning initiatives.
∎ Coordinate with the global Programme Manager, Head of Climate Resilience and Knowledge catalyst based in the UK to ensure alignment of Bangladesh activities with the global objectives of the programme and especially on activities with a global influencing dimension
∎ People, Budget and Partnership Management
∎ Manage people working in the projects and in partners to deliver the project outcomes in accordance with the highest standards of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
∎ Ensure that project budget from field to the central level is planned effectively and expenditures are made meeting the all compliance and organizational policy/procedures.
∎ Maintain relationship with the implementing partners, local, district, provincial and national level stakeholders ensuring that transparency at all levels maintained and project information communicated to relevant stakeholders in timely fashion.
∎ Knowledge Management
∎ Lead the team to prepare and implement knowledge capture and dissemination plan in support of the project objectives.
∎ Coordinate with other stakeholders (i.e. government, academia, INGOs, civil society organization and research institutions) to share the project knowledge as well as to encourage them on capturing and disseminating knowledge related to flood resilience.
∎ Compliance and Feedback
∎ Ensure the compliance (i.e. government, donor, organizational policies, procedures and requirement) maintained in each levels of project administration.
∎ As a practical Actioners, provide proactive feedback and reporting to Senior Management Team for any internal/external issues around project/organizational reputation as well as any solutions to overcome it.

∎ Experience in project planning and technical activities
∎ Good experience of participatory approaches in project development and implementation
∎ Good communication skills with fluency in English and Bangladeshi
∎ Good reporting and analysis writing
∎ Capacity in influencing skills
∎ Demonstrated skills in prioritising task and meeting deadlines
∎ Experience of working in multi-stakeholders, multi-country institutions and with government organizations
∎ Experienced in team works and managing relationships
∎ Excellent networking and communication skills
∎ Strong presentation and reporting skills
∎ Knowledge and skills in computing

Salary: Tk. 125000 - 130000 (Monthly)
