Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible to ensure timely project deliverable according to approved project document and work plan as agreed under the UNICEF project
∎ Undertake weekly/monthly/quarterly planning to ensure the project deliverables and implementation accordingly
∎ Lead the planning, development, review and implementation process of pedagogical practices, library management and child-centred teaching-learning materials and methodologies for Pre-Primary and Primary Grades
∎ Provide leadership to analyse existing government teacher education curriculum and training packages of Diploma of Primary Education (DPEd)and design training and workshop for Master Trainers, Government Officials, head teachers and teachers
∎ Lead project team with the support from Adviser for Pre-primary Education and Adviser for primary education, technical officers, who in turn coordinate a team of resource trainers and Literacy facilitators
∎ Work closely with Room to Read's technical teams, including Program Operations team, Literacy program (LP) team, Finance, Admin and Logistics to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and project activities are delivered accordingly
∎ Collaborate closely with Room to Read's country-based technical team as well as project's technical team to ensure the project's Theory of change (ToC) is fully integrated and the project is gender responsive
∎ Maintain regular communication, coordinate, and follow guidance from the RtR senior management team and seek input regarding quality enhancement from technical teams
∎ Conduct capacity building and/or mentoring activities for project staff and/or other partners of UNICEF as required
∎ Finalize assessment framework and plan in consultation with technical team
∎ Ensure timely submission of reports for Donor and Room to Read
∎ Report timely implementation of the project targets
∎ Review program reports and responds as necessary
∎ Supportive supervision of project staff
∎ Ensure high quality deliverables at all times
∎ Manage the project budget through timely forecasting and expense tracking
∎ Coordinate with local level government officials, local partners and other stakeholders
∎ Supportive supervision of project staff
∎ Oversee the performance of the project staff
∎ Conduct regular field visits to monitor and verify the programs' progress
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 10 years related work experience with at least 3 years in similar position
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of education issues, including teaching methodologies and community involvement in schools
∎ Thorough understanding of Government of Bangladesh's Pre-Primary and Primary Education system
∎ Experience of working with the existing pre-primary and primary curriculum
∎ Experience of reviewing curriculum's and making recommendations
∎ Experience of leading and supporting a team of at least 50 staff
∎ Experience of reporting
∎ Strong planning, budgeting/financial management, administrative, supervisory, coaching and program development skills
