Job Context:
∎ Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) in association with Johns Hopkins University (JHU), USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF/JHU`s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professional. PRF is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Project Manager for a multi-country, multi-centre individually randomized controlled trials to determine the efficacy and safety of outpatient treatment compared to inpatient treatment in young infants with CSI of varying severity. In short, the study is known as Optimizing place of treatment and antibiotic regimens for young infants presenting with signs of possible serious bacterial infection (PSBI trial). The study is being implemented in seven sites of six countries of Asia and Africa, coordinated by the World Health Organization. In Bangladesh, the study is being implemented at four hospitals located in Sylhet division- Zakiganj Upazila Health Complex, Sylhet; Sunamganj District Hospital, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar District Hospital, Moulvibazar and Habiganj District Hospital, Habiganj.
∎ Under the direction of the study Principal Investigators (PIs), Director and Deputy Director of PRF, the Project Manager will be responsible for overall management of the PSBI trial for effective and quality implementation. S/he will be responsible for planning, execution and study related communications with all four hospital authorities in consultation with Deputy Director, PRF. S/he will prepare and review study reports, identify gaps and potential solutions and communicate to study PIs and other investigators. S/he will be also responsible for administrative management of staff and resources. S/he ensures effective and efficient use of project`s resources and materials.
∎ Duty station: Sylhet. Need frequent travel to Study hospitals (70% of time).
∎ Working Condition: The position is based at PRF Sylhet Office with extensive visits (70%) in study hospitals
∎ The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibility # 1: Research Implementation-40% of time:
∎ a. Ensure adequacy of implementation,identify barriers/challenges of implementation, and help design strategies to overcome the challenges
∎ 1. Make frequent visits to selected facilities and ensure enrollment as per protocol
∎ 2.Monitor rate of enrollment
∎ 3.Facilitate training to hospital staff about the study
∎ 4. Support logistics supply to study hospitals
∎ 5.Identify challenges of implementation and assist to design strategies to overcome those
∎ 2. Responsibility # 2: Research Monitoring-35% of time:
∎ a.Design routine field monitoring reporting template from field data and database
∎ b.Assist to design data quality assurance system and tools
∎ 1.Training and refreshers training for the project staff
∎ 2.Design of standard operating procedures (SOPs) of tools
∎ 3.Standardization of field implementation
∎ 4.Design and organize supervision and support systems
∎ 5.Facilitate logistic management to ensure adequate field implementation
∎ 3. Responsibility # 3: Report preparation-15% of time:
∎ a.Develop reporting template to track the progress of the study and forecast challenges through the report
∎ b.Assist field and data teams to generate and use routine project reports
∎ 1. Ensure study specific weekly/fortnightly reports
∎ 2.Support data team to generate study specific fortnightly/monthly reports from database
∎ c. Prepare quarterly/half-yearly progress report for donor/ IRB as needed
∎ d. Review routine quantitative and descriptive reports and suggest improvement/change, if necessary
∎ 4. Responsibility # 4 Communication and liaise-10% of time:
∎ a.Create and maintain close liaison with four hospitals where the study will be implemented at all levels
∎ b. good liaise with Divisional and District level officers of DGHS/DHFP
∎ c. Regularly communicate to PI and co-investigators to update progress and share issues with potential solutions
∎ d.Maintain regular communication to WHO team and attend weekly/fortnightly/monthly conference call even after work hours
∎ e. Attend weekly Zoom call with Co-PIs and investigators and provide update of the study, challenges with potential solutions
∎ Reporting: Reports to Deputy Director-Research of PRF. Additionally, reports to study PIs for technical aspects of the study

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 7 years professional experience with exposure to MNCH project/research management, project design, and evaluation. Experience to manage clinical trial will be given preference
∎ Experience in program management and administration, financial management, award compliance, and tracking activity performance and costs
∎ Strong in written and verbal English and Bangla communications
∎ Skilled in MS Office software
∎ Planning and organizing.
∎ Operational decision making.
∎ Developing teams.
∎ Coaching and counseling.
∎ Managing performance for success.
∎ Delegating authority and responsibility.
∎ Networking, collaboration and building partnerships

Salary:
∎ Attractive remuneration package will be offered.
