• Qualifications: Master's in any discipline. Preferable Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Reduction, Geography, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Social Sciences or relevant field.

• Experience: Have minimum 10 years of proven working experience with INGOs/NGOs on Disaster Forecasting; Forecast based financing; Anticipatory Action; Disaster Risk Reduction; Humanitarian Action, etc.

• Reporting to : Project Director /Deputy Director .

• Age: Maximum: 50 years

• Should have skills and competencies in disaster management and climate change adaptation

• Proven experiences on program planning, implementation, budgeting, financial management and capable of project management independently

• Skilled in communication and maintaining liaison with local elected bodies, government authorities and people of marginalized communities

• The candidate should have good knowledge on safeguarding (Child Protection, Gender, and Anti-Sexual Harassment) issues, persons with disability inclusion, social protection, and complaint response and feedback mechanism.

• Staff management, verbal and written communication skills in Bengali and English

• Clear concepts on monitoring & evaluation

• The applicant should have computer skills on MS-word, MS-excel, PowerPoint and email communication

• Experience in advocacy and networking with regional and national level Institutes, platform and like-minded organizations

• Should have valid Motor bike driving license

• Willing to stay at upazila level with frequent visit to the remote areas

Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) is a non-profit making community development organization situated in the northern Bangladesh. The organization is registered with Social Welfare Department and NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh government. Since 1972, the organization has been serving the poor and extreme poor with special focus on the char (River Island) and attached char inhabitants (men, women, person with disability, youth, children and adolescents) in different areas through several program initiatives. At present, MJSKS has been working in Kurigram, Rangpur and Lalmonirhat district. MJSKS has been implementing various types of projects in the field of livelihood development, human rights, women empowerment, youth employability and engagement, adolescent development, gender equality, quality education for children, water and sanitation, health, hygiene & nutrition, Humanitarian Assistance in disaster and climate change adaptation. Sustainable development for the poorest through ensuring peoples participation is the key approach of its work.

Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) in collaboration with Handicap International- Humanity Inclusion (HI) Partnership has been implementing Inclusive and locally led action on climate induced disasters in Bangladesh Project that aims to enhance the climate resilience of vulnerable communities in Kurigram by developing and implementing an inclusive Anticipatory Action Protocol (AAP) that integrates Early Warning Systems

(EWS) and local preparedness plans, improving early detection, accurate prediction, and effective communication of flood risks.

MJSKS is looking for a qualified Project Manager (PM) for the said project

Job Nature: Full-time up to the project period based on performance

Job location: Ulipur upazila under Kurigram District.

Key responsibility:

• Responsible for all program planning and implementation activities at upazila level.

• Management and monitoring of program staff and their activities

• Organize Project kick-off meeting at district level with key stakeholders, Inception Meeting at Upazila and Union Level

• Organize consultation/validation workshop on locally led EW trigger model and Inclusive EWS for the community, union, upazila & national level.

• Organize validation workshop of the EAP with all stakeholders at district, upazila & union level.

• Organize lesson Learnt Workshop of the EAP at National level

• Develop guidelines, checklists and tools on inclusive early warning and early action for Anticipatory Action and DRM practitioners

• Developed locally led forecast-based flood early warning trigger system for anticipatory action for the community

• Develop, design & print IEC materials and make video documentation for good practices.

• Drafting of a local Flood Early Action protocol informed by all previous activities, and testing via Theory of Change Exercises to confirm the feasibility of the selected AA and draw lessons for improvement.

• Organize validation and sharing workshop

• Organize learning workshop at the end of the Project

• Conduct Upazila/District level closure and LL workshop

• Ensure visibility where applicable

• Arrange review meeting and project monitoring

• Coordination of climate resilient livelihood opportunities

• Administrative and transparent financial management

• Coordination with local administration ensuring government services for marginalized communities

• Prepare narrative and formative report

• Salary : Monthly gross salary Tk. 65000/- possibility of yearly salary increment maximum 5-10% with 1 festival bonus (equivalent one month gross salary)
