Experience:
Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Disaster management, etc. There are some flexibility in educational qualification for the highly experienced candidates.
Experience: Have minimum 3 years of proven working experience with INGOs/NGOs on Disaster Forecasting; Forecast based financing; Anticipatory Action; Disaster Risk Reduction; Humanitarian Action, etc.
Reporting to : Project Officer
Should have skills and competencies in disaster management and climate change adaptation
Proven experiences on program planning, implementation, budgeting, financial management and capable of project management independently
Skilled in communication and maintaining liaison with local elected bodies, government authorities and people of marginalized communities
The candidate should have good knowledge on safeguarding (Child Protection, Gender, and Anti-Sexual Harassment) issues, persons with disability inclusion, social protection, and complaint response and feedback mechanism.
Staff management, verbal and written communication skills in Bengali
The applicant should have computer skills on MS-word, MS-excel,
Experience in advocacy and networking with NGO,s and like-minded organizations
Should have valid Motor bike driving license
Willing to stay at Union level with frequent visit to the remote areas
Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) is a non-profit making community development organization situated in the northern Bangladesh. The organization is registered with Social Welfare Department and NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh government. Since 1972, the organization has been serving the poor and extreme poor with special focus on the char (River Island) and attached char inhabitants (men, women, person with disability, youth, children and adolescents) in different areas through several program initiatives. At present, MJSKS has been working in Kurigram, Rangpur and Lalmonirhat district. MJSKS has been implementing various types of projects in the field of livelihood development, human rights, women empowerment, youth employability and engagement, adolescent development, gender equality, quality education for children, water and sanitation, health, hygiene & nutrition, Humanitarian Assistance in disaster and climate change adaptation. Sustainable development for the poorest through ensuring peoples participation is the key approach of its work.
Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) in collaboration with Handicap International- Humanity Inclusion (HI) Partnership has been implementing Inclusive and locally led action on climate induced disasters in Bangladesh Project that aims to enhance the climate resilience of vulnerable communities in Kurigram by developing and implementing an inclusive Anticipatory Action Protocol (AAP) that integrates Early Warning Systems (EWS) and local preparedness plans, improving early detection, accurate prediction, and effective communication of flood risks.

MJSKS is looking for a qualified Field Facilitator for the said project.
Job Nature: Full-time up to the project period based on performance
Job location: Ulipur Upazila under Kurigram district.
Key responsibility:
• Organize training and awareness raising of key local disaster responders and community members on the EAP developed (risk thresholds, triggers, type of anticipatory actions to conduct)
• Conduct training on Inclusive Early warning for DMC & other members. Conduct awareness session at community /Ward level
• Readiness/preparedness support for local DRM actors and communities (stockpiling of equipment, small-scale mitigation works, accessibility of shelters and evacuation protocols, etc.)
• Retrofitting and accessibility modification of community buildings per ward one flood shelter
• Activation of the Early Action Protocol in the targeted area(s) if/when the trigger threshold is reached. Provide evacuation Support at ward level during emergency.
• Early Action Contingency Cash (UCT, voucher/token, or cash-for-work etc.) support for Person with Disabilities.
• Organize capacity-building training/webinars of Anticipatory Action and DRM practitioners on inclusive early warning and early action.
• Organize Training on Disability Inclusive for WDMC members
• Conduct Orientation and Quarterly meeting with UDMC on Disability Inclusion and AA
• Organize Disability inclusive AA training for project partner staff & humanitarian actors
• Organize capacity building training for community volunteers
• Conduct Inclusive Early warning and AA training for key stakeholders
• Conduct Training evaluation and Satisfaction survey
Salary : Monthly gross salary Tk. 28,708/- possibility of yearly salary increment maximum 5-10% with 1 festival bonus (equivalent one month gross salary)
