Must have 2–4 years of work experience in disaster management projects.
Prior experience working with NGOs or development agencies in coastal or climate-vulnerable areas is essential.
Proven experience managing field teams and coordinating with diverse stakeholders including youth, schools, community leaders, and government bodies.

Field visits to project locations are a requirement of the position. It is a condition of employment that staff abides by all agency security and safety protocols, policies and procedures

Excellent report writing skills in both English and Bengali Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with project management tools

The Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS), working in Bangladesh since 1998 with the vision of building an "environment-friendly, gender-sensitive, fair, and self-reliant pluralistic society," is set to launch a new initiative in partnership with Plan International Bangladesh. The project, titled "DURBAR: Girls-Led Climate Solutions," will commence in August 2025 in Charfession Upazila under Bhola District.
"DURBAR: Girls-Led Climate Solutions" project, implemented by the Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS), aims to empower adolescent girls and youth in Char Manika Union, Bhola, one of Bangladesh’s most climate-vulnerable coastal areas. Through integrated interventions in climate change education, health, sexual and reproductive rights and green economic opportunities, the project will build community resilience and promote youth leadership. Special focus is given to ensuring the participation of girls, marginalized groups and persons with disabilities. The initiative leverages AVAS’s strong local presence, partnerships with government and community stakeholders and experience in gender-transformative programming.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
This position is accountable to-
Planning:
Annual program planning and budget preparation·
Prepare monthly and quarterly work plans in accordance with the overall operational plan
Update plans in accordance with monitoring data.
Supervision, monitoring and implementation
Allocate responsibilities to team members and provide necessary training·
Ensure that staff have an opportunity to develop capacity and learn new skills
Ensure that defined objectives and outputs are being achieved
Conduct field visits at project sites on a regular basis
Supervise and monitor outreach activities such as one-to-one, group meetings, sensitization meetings are held as per plan with effective use of ECC & BCC material as per standard guidelines
Ensure audit & monitoring compliance.
Capacity development and continuing Education
Analysis staff’s knowledge, skill and experience and find out the gaps
Ensure an enabling environment where staff can easily share their experience and learn from other colleagues
Ensure compliance regarding Gender and Child Rights and Protection policy issues of respective organization.
Advocacy and Networking
Local level relationship building with respective stakeholders related to the projects
Networking with other like-minded organizations, alliances, networks, and media
Ensure local level advocacy as per project requirements.
Finance and administration
Ensure adequate financial control, proper governing and monitoring of the expenditure on funds
Reporting & Documentation
Ensure all sorts of project reports considering requirements of donor and respective organization
Collect and make hard and soft copies of all final documents produced by the project - including training reports, M&E reports, position papers, etc
Store all reports in a logical way so that they are readily accessible to all who need access to those
Communication & donor compliance:
Capable to communicate directly with respective program focal of donor in case of project related issues or problems (Management & Technical)
Meet up the donor compliance (financial, values, organizational mandate & program requirement) as CCCD as core values, gender equality, child protection etc.
