∎ The challenge:
∎ Simavi is looking for a consultant Project Manager. We are looking to support upcoming creative projects that will be rolled out in the programme Our lives, our health, our futures: empowering adolescent girls and young women in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh, to live with dignity and without violence. This programme is funded by the European Union and runs from January 2019 to December 2023.
∎ The impact of the programme is to enable and support young women and adolescent girls from indigenous groups in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh to transition into adult womanhood with dignity, and bodily and sexual autonomy, without violence, coercion and/or discrimination. The programme applies a holistic approach where we support young women and girls to identify, articulate and voice their needs (through advocacy and support for improved services, etc.), while at the same time our work with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), mothers, men/boys, community leaders and service providers is to ensure that these stakeholders respond to and engage with the needs, rights and priorities of young women and girls.
∎ You report to the Programme Manager of Our Lives, Our Health, Our Futures Programme in Bangladesh and the Programme Officer in Simavi Netherlands. You will work in partnership with our coordinating partner BNPS, and the 10 implementing local CSOs in CHT.
∎ Period: Full time consultancy from 15/04/2022 until 31/09/2022.
∎ Budget: Max. budget available for this assignment is 10.000 EUR. The financial proposal needs to include fees for the time allocated to this project and travel to the CHT frequently (on a monthly basis).

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for the logistical roll out of the creative projects that will occur in 2022 within our 300 girls clubs (approximately 900 girls groups).
∎ Support documentation of process of roll-out of creative projects.
∎ Act as a key focal point to Simavi's 10 implementing and 1 coordinating partner organizations throughout the organization of the creative projects.
∎ Oversee that our 10 implementing and 1 coordinating partner organizations are fulfilling their responsibilities.
∎ Develop and maintain a clear internal communication strategy to make sure all partner organizations and Simavi are aligned, and execute the project in a similar manner.
∎ Coordinate the recruitment, logistics of travel and planning, together with the 10 implementing and 1 coordinating partner organisations involved in the programme, to hire, orient and manage the creative consultants needed in support of the creative projects.
∎ Coordinate between organizations to ensure the smooth execution of processes, payments and implementation in collaboration with our partner organisations.
∎ Responsible to track progress of the project and communicate regular updates to Simavi and its partner organizations. Develop facilitation guides on the rollout of creative projects to support and guide the staff from 10 implementing CSOs in the CHT, including process, timeline, and guidelines for working on the creative projects.
∎ Regular travel to the CHT to coordinate, support and guide the roll out of the creative projects.
∎ Hold regular check-ins with partner organisations (10 local CSOs and coordinating partner BNPS) on the advance of the creative projects.

Additional Requirements:
∎ You have at least 2 years of relevant working experience in the sector;
∎ You have project management experience, and/or social behavioural change communications experience;
∎ You have demonstrated experience and affinity with working with civil society organisations in developing countries (incl. capacity strengthening);
∎ You have excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and Bangla;
∎ You are result-driven and able to work independently.
∎ Specific deliverables and tasks identified to be done and agreed between consultant and Simavi:
∎ Create a clear plan and timeline of project activities.
∎ Follow up with related parties to ensure deadlines and commitments are completed. This will be evaluated with Simavi based on key milestones that will be agreed at the start of the consultancy.
∎ 300 girls clubs (approx. 900 girls groups) completed creative projects by end of September 2022.
