∎ Name of the Project: Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and building infrastructure for Disaster Vulnerable Communities in Bangladesh (STEP & BuildIn) Project
∎ 3. Project Summary: Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and building infrastructure for Disaster Vulnerable Communities in Bangladesh (STEP & BuildIn) Project is aiming to improve the life and livelihood status of the vulnerable people by focusing on (i) Strengthening knowledge, response and recovery capacity of different stakeholders (ii) Reducing the disaster risk through improving physical structure and providing improve adaptive services to the community and (iii) Reducing the vulnerability of the community people through providing improved and alternative livelihoods.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Role of this Position: To provide leadership, management, administrative and logistic support and guidance to the staff of upazila team members so that they will be able to implement planned activities on timely manner with high level of quality and achieve the goal and objectives of the project. To support and ensure organizational policy, mission and vision as well as uphold gender norms and values in the working area.
∎ Job Summary: Under the strategic and technical guidance and supervision of Project Coordinator, Project Manager will-
∎ provide leadership and management support to the upazila team members for achieving project goal and objectives;
∎ manage human resources, manage financial and material resources sent and used;
∎ support and ensure organizational policy, mission and vision as well as gender norms and values and adhered to;
∎ organize and implement plans and activities along working with the upazila team members within the allocated resources;
∎ coordinate and ensure different guidelines and program strategies are implemented;
∎ provide training and mentoring to upazila staff team members for enhancing their capacities;
∎ monitor project progress and financial expenses as planned with high level of quality and accountability;
∎ network, advocate and lobby at national and international organizations;
∎ prepare progress reports regularly on program and financial issues, Government Offices and Donor partners;
∎ Major Responsibilities:
∎ Formulating plan and budget for smooth project implementation
∎ Training, mentoring and counseling staff team members for enhancing their capacity and ability to achieve project goal and objectives.
∎ Taking actions for building capacity of communities, local institutions and aware raising of communities or individuals in the project selected areas.
∎ Ensuring timely implementation on structural based disaster risk reduction actions
∎ Guiding staff members and community members in implementing of food security and livelihood programs.
∎ Ensuring community based health, water and sanitation actions.
∎ Ensuring equal participation of men and women in program activities for mainstreaming gender into the family and communities.
∎ Advocating and lobbying at community, local and district level on climate change issues.
∎ Managing financial resources
∎ Monitoring, Reporting, documenting and publication
∎ Other task assigned by the organization
∎ Supervision Given: (i); Field Supervisor and Capacity Building Officer (ii) Account cum Admin Officer (iii) Technical Officer (Engineering) (iv) Field Organizers

Additional Requirements:
∎ Other Requirement:
∎ Minimum Five Years of working experience in similar type of position in development sector focusing on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation, community-based organization management, improving livelihoods of the community people.
∎ Skills in leadership, management, communication, negotiation and decision making.
∎ managing staff and office independently for operating a diversified program.
∎ Good interpersonal relationship, motivating capacity, counseling and team building skills.
∎ Skills in participatory planning, budgeting, implementing and monitoring of disaster management and/or climate change related project at grass-root level with knowledge in using PRA tools and techniques.
∎ Ability to write good report and presentation.
∎ Excellent computer operation skills including Microsoft excel, MS word, Power point, email and internet browsing.
∎ Driving motorcycle with valid driving license.
∎ Willingness to stay and operate project at remote area.
∎ Physical Requirements: Physically and mentally sound with good health, smart, energetic, ability to work in all situation and environment.

Salary: Tk. 50000 - 55000 (Monthly)
