∎ Job Context: South Asia Partnership-Bangladesh invites application for the position of Project Coordinator from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing "Strengthening Forecast-based Early Actions in Cyclone Prone coastal regions in Bangladesh (STEP)" in Patharghata Upazila of Barguna District for the duration of 20 Months with possibility of further extension.
∎ Job Location: Patharghata Upazila of Barguna District

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Planning:
∎ Preparation and revision of Annual work plan and budget.
∎ Prepare monthly and quarterly work plans in accordance with overall operational plan.
∎ Update plans in accordance with monitoring data.
∎ Supervision monitoring and implementation:
∎ Build capacity of STEP team, NGO partner staff and disaster management committee to understand the concept of Disaster Management Committees and link them with the institutions of DM in Barguna;
∎ Facilitate training and liaise with DM experts for developing IEC materials on disasters;
∎ Carry out disaster risk assessment of communities through participatory approaches and work with technical experts on some technical issues of risk assessment;
∎ Support the team and coordinate with different actors in the DRR field including government departments, professional agencies and humanitarian organizations, in particular among Working Group (WG) members;
∎ Document or support documentation of meetings/events by recording and drafting meeting minutes, compiling reports and facilitating knowledge management;
∎ Forming different layer of CBOs organizing women, youth and adolescents' groups;
∎ Facilitate for developing DRM plans of communities;
∎ DRR-related coordination is ensured through correspondence, communications, documentation accurately and timely;
∎ Facilitate to increase the network of the cluster level DMCs like; WDMC, UDMC, UzDMC and District level Disaster Management Committee;
∎ Ensure that disaster preparedness plans strengthen the resilience of communities for disasters and reduce disaster risks. Assist partners in local management of disasters;
∎ Ensure the implementation of the disaster preparedness, early anticipative action, recovery and its effectiveness into the communities and other institutions to contribute at community level;
∎ DRR-related coordination is ensured through correspondence, communications, documentation accurately and timely;
∎ DRR-related knowledge management with a focus on best practices and success stories is ensured, draft media materials are available accurate and on time;
∎ Revise annual budgets based on updates to activity plans in coordination with STEP team. Monitor and manage expenditure to ensure effective financial management;
∎ Report to assigned supervisor and Consortium Partner monthly basis on the progress of the project including the impact level contribution;
∎ Provide monthly and 6-monthly reports on project progress in a prescribed format;
∎ Advocacy and Networking:
∎ Local level relationship building with respective stakeholders related with the projects.
∎ Networking with other likeminded organization, alliance, networks, and media.
∎ Ensure local level advocacy as per project requirements.
∎ Finance and administration:
∎ Ensure adequate financial control, proper governing and monitoring to the expenditure of fund
∎ Ensure timely procurement, store and supply of materials for effective implementation of all program activities that includes community service provision.
∎ Ensure preparing monthly, quarterly & yearly financial report.
∎ Other Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical support to other projects as and when necessary.
∎ Being available to be deployed during emergency response within agreed period and geographical area
∎ Any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Working conditions: This position is field based in Patharghata in Barguna with 75% of the time spent in the field. The rest of the time will be used to assist teamwork, analyze cluster activities and supervise team members and plan for future activities and other important deskwork as per the requirements of the project.
∎ Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in coordination, capacity building and disaster risk reduction;
∎ A proven record of working in an inter-agency network is considered as an asset;
∎ Ability to work with a team and to take initiative;
∎ Proficient in using the prevalent computer applications (word processing, presentations, email, etc.);
∎ Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision;
∎ Good communication and interpersonal skills, team-oriented work style;
∎ Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
∎ Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
∎ Good humor, patience, high energy, and a shared belief in SAP-BD's mission.
∎ Language: Good oral and written command of both in Bangla and English.

Salary:
∎ Monthly gross Taka 65,205 (and yearly salary increment per year as per Provision in the project budget)
