∎ We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator based in Dhaka for the "?Comprehensive Eye Care for Garment Workers - Assessing Impact on Productivity" project of Helen Keller Intl. Bangladesh.
∎ COUNTRY PROGRAM OVERVIEW
∎ Starting in 1978 by promoting and implementing Nutrition programs, today, Helen Keller Bangladesh is implementing large scale food and health systems program work in Dhaka, the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), Sylhet, Sathkhira, Bogura, Pabna and Narayangonj through and with the government of Bangladesh, as well as national and international partners and NGOs, academic and research institutions, and the private sector.
∎ Since its beginning, Helen Keller Bangladesh has worked with over 150 local, international and government partners to establish Enhanced Homestead Food Production (HFP) programs benefiting over 4.5 million people. We are currently implementing programs to prevent blindness and Neglected Tropical Diseases alongside to programs to improve nutrition and food security that integrate gender-sensitive approaches.
∎ SCOPE OF THE POSITION
∎ The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with stakeholders from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh (OSB) to implement a project aimed at integrating eye health services within health facilities managed by BGMEA for their workers. The project`s main objectives are:
∎ Effectively integrate primary eye care services within BMGEA-affiliated health facilities.
∎ Reduce the prevalence of visual impairment, primarily uncorrected refractive errors (URE), among garment workers at targeted facilities.
∎ Examine changes in productivity and work quality resulting from the provision of eye care services and eyeglasses.
∎ The Project Coordinator will report to the Head of Nutrition & Health at Helen Keller International Bangladesh and will be based in the Dhaka Office.
∎ Time required in job to reach effective performance: Probation period - 3 months

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Coordinator's key responsibilities include:
∎ Ensuring timely and successful implementation of all scheduled activities.
∎ Arranging stakeholder meetings and training sessions promptly.
∎ Supervising surveys and ensuring their timely and high-quality execution.
∎ Verifying and vetting all E-prescriptions for refractive errors identified by medical doctors at BGMEA Medical Centers.
∎ Representing Helen Keller International at various meetings with NEC, INGO forums, and other stakeholders.
∎ Conducting monthly meetings with colleagues in the country office to provide project updates.
∎ Compiling and reporting monthly activity updates to the line manager.
∎ Coordinating with BGMEA, OSB, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project functioning.
∎ Maintaining regular communication with Helen Keller International's Research and Monitoring team for survey progress updates.
∎ Collaborating with the finance department to provide summary budget reports and feedback for development.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
∎ Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
∎ Ability to work effectively with a large team and excellent problem-solving skills.
∎ Capable of working in both government and private environments, coordinating with medical professionals from various sectors.
∎ Strong communication skills, fluency in spoken and written Bangla and English.
∎ Proficiency in MS Office and comfortable with computer databases.
∎ Experience with Monitoring & Evaluation and basic statistical understanding.
∎ Proven history of writing field reports.

To achieve this objective, HKI is working in partnership with CRS, CARITAS Bangladesh, five local implementing partners, individuals, communities, traditional institutions and the Government of Bangladesh to affect enduring positive change by addressing immediate needs while investing in the future of food security and resilience.
