Job Context:
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the "Climate-Resilient Infrastructure for Sustainable Community Life in the Haor Region of Bangladesh" funded by the IKI Small Grants Funding Scheme of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment. The project will be implemented in the Haor area of Sunamganj district of Bangladesh with a view to protecting the villages (Hati) from wave erosion from Afal. The German development organization Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (giz) Bangladesh office will look after the project. The PKSF will implement this project through FIVDB. The present project tenure is one year.
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), is a Bangladeshi non-governmental organisation founded in 1979 under the Societies` Registration Act, 1860. The organisation is also registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau and the Micro Credit Regulatory Authority, of the Government of Bangladesh.
∎ FIVDB`s societal vision is that of `a vibrant society based on justice, equity, democracy and environmentally sound principles`. It works with the mission to give the disadvantaged women, men and children greater voice, reduce their vulnerability, increase their use of citizenship rights and help them enhance their quality of life. To that end FIVDB pursues educational, social and economic capacity building and social organization processes. It works to strengthen social protection and safety networks and participates in national and international outreach and advocacy. The organization combines grassroots service delivery, social mobilization and advocacy in its work and works in collaboration with communities, civil society, the Government and private sectors
∎ Objective of the project:
∎ Promote climate adaptive infrastructure measures for selected vulnerable communities in the project area including communities.
∎ Promote climate-adaptive livelihoods for climate vulnerable people in haor region
∎ Improve the biodiversity conservation through sustainable resource management for reducing impacts of climate change in the haor region
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
∎ Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
∎ Liaise with PKSF to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
∎ Make sure that PKSF needs are met as projects evolve
∎ Monitor project progress and resolve any issues that arise
∎ Coordinate with program division required activities ensuring proper and timely actions from both PKSF's and FIVDB side.
∎ Ensure a sound handing over of facilities to project participants.
∎ Liaise with local administration, public representatives and participate in various meetings, seminars and workshops as required by the project.
∎ Perform other tasks assigned by the authority.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 20 to 45 years
∎ Working in the haor area will be added advantage
∎ Experience in operating AutoCAD will be preferred
Salary:
∎ Negotiable
