Job Context:
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement few projects under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox`s Bazar with the support of different donor agencies.
∎ The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Teknaf/Ukhiya with substantial field activities at different camps and host communities. The job is contractual for the project period with a three (3) months probation period.
∎ Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), is a Bangladeshi non-governmental organisation founded in 1979 under the Societies` Registration Act, 1860. The organisation is also registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau and the Micro Credit Regulatory Authority, of the Government of Bangladesh.
∎ FIVDB`s societal vision is that of `a vibrant society based on justice, equity, democracy and environmentally sound principles`. It works with the mission to give the disadvantaged women, men and children greater voice, reduce their vulnerability, increase their use of citizenship rights and help them enhance their quality of life. To that end FIVDB pursues educational, social and economic capacity building and social organization processes. It works to strengthen social protection and safety networks and participates in national and international outreach and advocacy. The organization combines grassroots service delivery, social mobilization and advocacy in its work and works in collaboration with communities, civil society, the Government and private sectors.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall implementation of the project; including (1) timely activity implementation according to plan and routine monitoring against agreed indicators, (2) high quality progress and final reports for external and internal use and (3) strong budget oversight: monthly forecasting and spending according to plan; quarterly revisions, as needed; and budget (spending) reporting.
∎ Key Area 1: Provide technical support to ensure quality implementation of the project
∎ The Project Coordinator will:
∎ - Supervise and provide ongoing mentoring to the technical coordinator. This includes review and development of programmatic tools, reviewing training session and IEC material.
∎ - To support in leading rapid and detailed child-led CP risk mapping and safety audit assessments in new target areas; identify barriers and risk faced by girls and boys and determine priorities, immediate activities, and required resources;
∎ - To provide timely feedback on the ongoing activities and propose amendments as needed and way forward/mitigation measures to challenges faced;
∎ - To provide technical support to revise and develop contextualized training and IEC materials and coordinate/facilitate the use of these materials during training and community awareness sessions on CP;
∎ - To support mainstreaming FIVDB and donor's children and young people policy in the camps and host communities;
∎ - To contribute to proposal development –as needed- by providing relevant inputs on CP related aspects in close coordination with the technical unit and project management team as well as engaging in resource mobilization efforts to support joint programming;
∎ - Contribute to the elaboration of the reporting accordingly to donor/projects requirements
∎ - To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
∎ Key Area 2: Staff Capacity Building
∎ - Design and facilitate staff capacity building plan (appraisal)
∎ - Contribute to recruitment of officers’ position and volunteers
∎ - Provide on-the-job coaching and support to officers in technical aspects of the program.
∎ Key Area 3: Coordination
∎ - External Representation: He/she represents FIVDB and donor agency in Communicating with Communities Working Group and relevant Task Forces as needed in Teknaf/Ukhiya and camp level and in Cox’s Bazar
∎ - Staff meeting in Cox’s Bazar & Teknaf/ Ukhiya.
∎ Ensures that FIVDB and donor agency global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB and donor agency Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 55 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Fluency in Bangla (both reading and writing).
∎ Fluency in Chittagonian and/or Rohingya is a plus for this position.
∎ Prior experience of working in greater Chittagong Division and knowledge.
∎ English proficiency and Computer knowledge is a plus.
∎ Willing to take challenge of working in a participatory approach for Rohingya Community/ Host Community.
∎ Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill.
∎ Understanding of local culture.
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level.
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
∎ Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
∎ Essential-
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla (both reading and writing), Chittagong language and/or Burmese language is considered as special advantage.
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles and established international child protection minimum standards.
∎ Must be good in creative thinking, management of space and materials, timetabling and events planning.
∎ In depth knowledge of child rights, child wellbeing and psychosocial needs.
∎ Desirable-
∎ Ability to work independently and as a team player who demonstrates leadership and is able to support and train local staff and also able to work with disaster affected communities in a sensitive and participatory manner.
∎ Strong team management, staff capacity building and motivation skills in teamwork and networking.
∎ Works with trustworthiness and integrity and has a clear commitment to FIVDB/Donor's core values and humanitarian principles.
∎ Has basic awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 75000 - 120000 (Monthly)
∎ 10% of the Basic Salary will be deducted as Staff Security Fund (Payment made after project closing/ Leave from FIVDB)

Yearly Salary Increment(Up to 5-10% based on Performance Appraisal and budgeted provision of the selected project)
