Experience:
• Master’s degree in education, Social Sciences, or any other relevant discipline
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the Education and Child Protection sectors, including at least 5 years in a managerial role
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Education in Emergencies (EiE), experience in the Rohingya community is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Do No Harm principles and other humanitarian standards, including INEE minimum standards.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Humanitarian architecture of the Rohingya Response, its operating and regulatory environment.

Child protection, gender equality, and inclusion :
Ensures that FIVDB and the International Rescue Committee’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy, including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB and IRC’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Project Context: Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the project titled “Enhancing the well-being of refugees and underprivileged host communities in Cox’s Bazar through inclusive and complementary protection, education, health, and advocacy interventions” under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program in Cox’s Bazar, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). The project will be implemented over a period of twenty-four (24) months, commencing on 01 May 2026 and concluding on 30 April 2028. The position will be recruited to support the effective implementation of the project and will be based at the FIVDB Field Office in Ukhiya, with significant field engagement across various camps and host communities. The job is contractual for the project period with a three (3) months’ probation period.
Job Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of the project in compliance with the FIVDB policies and procedures. S/he will be overall responsible for the delivery of the commitments, reporting, and managing resources (HR, Monetary, physical assets) and relations with local administration. S/he will support project staff and take initiatives to build their capacity for effective implementation of project activities. S/He will closely work and maintain effective coordination with Technical Officers, Finance & Admin Officer, M&E Officer of ECW Project, Program Coordinator, Finance manager, and HR of FIVDB Humanitarian Response Program. S/H will collaborate with the Senior Manager – Basic Education and the Technical Team of the International Rescue Committee, Bangladesh. He/she will also ensure project implementation meets the global/organizational standards of emergency responses and donors’ compliance aspects; ensure project monitoring mechanism is established and functional to ensure quality implementation and downwards accountability.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Leadership:
• Responsible for overall project implementation in compliance with the agreement, approved budget, and Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP)
• Prepares and submits progress reports as per the DIP and provides updates as required.
• Ensures the review and timely dissemination of high-quality analytical reports.
• Facilitates all required Government of Bangladesh (GoB) approvals in coordination with the International Rescue Committee.
2. Effective Management and Implementation:
• Manages the implementation of project interventions with a focus on Education in Emergencies for boys and girls (aged 3–18) in Rohingya camps and host communities
• Develops the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) in coordination with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and FIVDB senior management to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality implementation, and monitors overall progress
• Oversee budget management and support the team to ensure optimal utilization of resources, aiming for a 100% expenditure rate
• Ensures timely delivery of project activities in compliance with budget and donor requirements, and tracks progress through regular updates on achievements, priorities, and constraints
• Leads the development of comprehensive work plans with project staff and ensures their effective and timely execution
• Collaborate with the ‘Project Team’ and IRC technical team to generate evidence, promote learning, and strengthen overall program quality
3. Maintain effective coordination for effective implementation towards achieving the objectives of the project
• Hold monthly/quarterly review and coordination meetings with the project team.
• Support organizing and conducting meetings/training/workshops with the government and other stakeholders with quality.
• Provide technical support to adopt the Child Safeguarding Policy and ensure gender equality to partner organizations.
4. Administrative Financial Management:
• Prepares FD-6, FD-7, and FC-1 documents with support from IRC, and initiates the certification process with local authorities while maintaining liaison with relevant government offices
• Assists the team in ensuring optimal budget utilization, targeting a 100% expenditure rate
• Ensures sound financial management in compliance with organizational and donor policies, procedures, and standards
• Conducts regular monitoring of project budget utilization through analysis of Budget vs. Actual (BvA) reports
5. Capacity Building
• Support training and creation of training materials and programme tools which aid the delivery of inclusive and gender responsive education programme.
• Initiate staff capacity building process, conducts need assessment and support to technical team to facilitate the training session.
• Participate in monthly one to one meeting with Consortium Manager on MAP (Monthly Action Plan) review.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MER&L)
• Supervise and monitor project activities and provides required supports accordingly using tools (including monitoring framework)
• Prepares timely monthly/quarterly financial and narrative reports (including FD7 reports) in compliance with Plan, donor and government requirements, with support from M&E Officer.
7. Coordination and External Representation
• Communicates, coordinates, and follows guidance from the Senior Manager – Basic Education and the Technical Team of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Bangladesh on technical quality, monitoring, expenditure reporting, and donor compliance
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with district- and Upazila-level government officials, including Camp-in-Charges (CiCs)
• Represents the organization in general coordination meetings at the camp level and at the UNO office
• Supports documentation and dissemination of key learnings, best practices, and coordination outcomes to inform program improvement
