Experience:
Master’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, or a relevant field.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in the development sector.
At least 5 years of leadership experience managing multi-sectoral programs.
Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to provide strategic direction, staff mentoring, team building, workplan development, and budget management.
Experience in capacity building and delivering training to diverse audiences, including government counterparts, partners, and community stakeholders.

Job Context:
Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement Ashroy (Advancing Child Rights for Resilient Growth in Haors of Sylhet District) and Surokkha (Protect the Rights, Promote the Growth) Projects with support from Kindernothilfe (KNH). Both the Projects’ aim is to create a protective, inclusive and enabling environment in Haor and Tea worker communities from Sylhet Sadar, Kanaighat and Jaintapur Upazila where children-especially the most marginalized are safe, respected and supported to reach their full potential. The key changes envisioned are:

Child-centered climate change adaptation and mitigation

The Projects’ period is from April 2026 to December 2030. By the end of these projects, Haor and Tea worker communities will have a reduced incidence of child rights violations, more supportive parenting and household practices and a network of empowered adolescents able to advocate for themselves. Duty bearers will be more responsive and systems for protection more robust and inclusive, ensuring sustainable safeguarding of children beyond the project lifecycle.
Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator (PC) will be responsible for overall implementation of the projects to achieve the objectives through strategic planning and direction. This position ensures that projects’ objectives are met on time, within budget, and in full alignment with FIVDB’s mission and donor requirements. The PC will act as a bridge between field implementation teams, central management, and external stakeholders through accountability, excellence, and sustainable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and overall guidance to the team throughout the implementation with support from FIVDB management and KNH
Lead the project implementation team in taking responsibilities with adequate authority regarding intervention, planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, management and coordination of the project.
Ensure overall coordination and communication between FIVDB and KNH authority as well as GoB stakeholder.
Build and nurture effective teamwork in the project with on job training, coaching and mentoring to the staff.
Develop quantitative and qualitative reports with MEL officer and submit the reports to KNH.
Report regularly to the Project Focal Person on project progress, challenges, and key decisions.
Any other responsibilities as assigned by the FIVDB authority, beyond those explicitly stated in the JD/ToR.
