Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. About three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services, especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community-focused and people-centered approach has been adopted by ESDO, while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 Upazilas under 51 districts of Bangladesh, covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ With the partnership of Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), Eco-Social Development Organization ESDO is going to implement the ‘‘Community based Resilience, Women’s Empowerment and Action (CREA) Project’’ at Jamalpur with a goal “Build women’s leadership capacity and increased resilience of the most vulnerable communities to address climate change impact”. To achieve this goal, as a strategy, the project has been considered the five (5) outcomes. These are Outcome-1: Service providers both public and local government institutions are responsive, and increased access to the quality services of community specially women & girls. Outcome-2: Improved resilience of the most vulnerable coastal, char, hill, and haor communities to climate change impact. Outcome-3: Empowered women and girls are dealing with inequality, social injustice, violence incidences and participated in voice raising and protests. Outcome-4: Strong voices and decisions are in place against DVAW and child marriage. Decrease in rate of child marriage and DVAW in the selected climate vulnerable areas. Outcome-5: Risks related to poverty will be decreased with increased family income and alternative livelihoods options. To reached out the maximum impacts of the goal and outcomes, ESDO is inviting applications from the dynamic, potential, self-motivated, interested and qualified candidates fulfilling the below mentioned conditions for the proposed position.
∎ As key personnel, responsible for carrying out program activities. The role of Project Manager will contribute to lead implementation plan; providing administrative and financial support; develop operational strategic plan, operational modality, supervising and monitoring to team members to ensure quality implementation; maintaining liaison with project stakeholders, donors and GoB official, overseeing and ensuring creative monitoring and evaluation process.
∎ The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities under the Community based Resilience, Women’s Empowerment and Action (CREA) Project. The position requires strong coordination and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of community-based development approaches, gender and women’s empowerment issues.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Provide strategic leadership for successful implementation and ensure efficient use of resources;
∎ Overall management of project with rigorous supervision of staff and quality monitoring of program activities;
∎ Develop linkage network and coordination with project relevant stakeholder in District & Upazila level
∎ Provide proper direction to implement the effective project activities.
∎ Document good practices, case study, success story and prepare report;
∎ Responsible for overall coordination, monitoring, financial management, reporting and documentation
∎ specific Responsibility
∎ Develop project work plans and ensure the timely implementation of project activities
∎ Coordinate with project team members to ensure efficient delivery of project outcomes
∎ Monitor progress of project activities and provide regular updates to the concerned management of MJF and ESDO
∎ Community Engagement and Empowerment
∎ Organizing various events at upazila and district level
∎ Identify and engage with community stakeholders, including women’s groups, youth, and other key actors, to ensure their meaningful participation in project activities
∎ Support the implementation of activities that promote community resilience, women’s empowerment, and gender equality
∎ Conduct regular community consultations to ensure the project is responsive to community needs and priorities
∎ Organize & facilitation of district/Upazilla level orientation, seminars, workshop, meeting, training, rallies etc.
∎ Participate in NGO Coordination meeting, provide progress report to relevant authority.
∎ Ensure local administrative certificate in timely manner for NGO Affairs bureau report
∎ Staff supervision &Performance Management;
∎ Prepare staffs performance Planning at the beginning of the year and assess performance at end of the year including midterm review
∎ Staff management, supervision 7 development
∎ Time to time review staff’s performance 7 provide feedback for necessary improvement
∎ Provide on the job training, mentoring, coaching and ensure staffs development
∎ Planning & Knowledge
∎ Effective implementation of Plan
∎ Know the vulnerable people livelihood options of working areas and initiate beneficiaries to get more production for benefit and sustainability
∎ Know level of empowerment in the communities and aware for raising voice to lead a dignified human life
∎ Know the educational system and components for the targeted vulnerable people.
∎ Know rights of extreme poor community and to raise their voice
∎ Develop gender sensitive environment in project implementation
∎ Know climate change disaster risk issues & adaption measures
∎ Know economic development issues of rural communities
∎ Financial Management
∎ Ensure efficient and effective use of project resources in compliance with donor requirements and project budget
∎ Prepare and manage project budgets, financial reports, and other financial documents
∎ Coordinate with finance team members to ensure timely disbursement of project funds
∎ Ensure procurement as per policy
∎ Budget preparation/review/monitoring & control
∎ Monitoring and Evaluation
∎ Develop and implement project monitoring and evaluation plans in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team
∎ Ensure that project activities are monitored and evaluated regularly, and results are documented and shared with stakeholders
∎ Use M&E data to inform project decision-making and to improve project outcomes
∎ Field Visit:
∎ Prepare Field visit plan at the beginning of the month and submit to the chief of program/Coordinator/Focal person
∎ 60% field work to assist in the implementation project activities and others 40% desk work for reporting
∎ Prepare Field Visit report and submitted to coordinator/Focal person/Program head/donor representative.
∎ Reporting and Communication
∎ Prepare Progress report and submit to focal person/donor representative/program head at the end of each month
∎ Coordinate with project team members to ensure timely submission of project reports and other deliverables
∎ Communicate project results and outcomes to project stakeholders through regular meetings, workshops, and other communication channels
∎ Collect good practices and success stories and include into reports with photographs
∎ Documentation and preservation:
∎ Preserve all files with respective letters/documents/reports etc
∎ Preserve necessary photographs of the project activities
∎ Collect, prepare and preserve different documents like; case study, success story, photographs and reports or program head, supervisor timely.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Age limit will be relaxed for highly experience candidates.
∎ At least 5 years of experience in project management
∎ Incumbent should have 2/3 years of experience in women’s empowerment/gender equality and Gender based violence/climate change and governance/ right based approach
∎ Strong organizational, coordination and communication skills
∎ Experience working with community-based organizations, government agencies, and civil society organizations
∎ Experience with financial management and budgeting
∎ Proficiency in written and spoken English
∎ Fluency in English, both written and verbal as well as Bangla.
∎ Proficient knowledge of standard computer software if possible.

Salary: Tk. 45000 (Monthly)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Two festival bonus equivalent of one month gross salary & other benefit according to the project allocation.
