Job Context:
∎ WaterAid Bangladesh is an international, non-Government, not-for-profit organization, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation, is looking for a dynamic, passionate and self-driven individual to fill in the position of Programme Officer for the office of Country Director in its country office in Bangladesh.
∎ The position will work closely with the Country Director, help to manage day-to-day work, organise meetings & schedules and support in writing reports, developing concept notes, preparing presentation and other relevant activities. The position will assist to maintain a road map of interviews/external engagement in alignment with the Country Directorate to ensure regular visibility of the Bangladesh Country Director in different media outlets despite her/his schedule. The position must have an in-depth knowledge of the organisation and is able to perform a variety of tasks
∎ Reportable to : Country Director
∎ Working hours : Full time (05 days in a week with minimum 37.5 hours per week)
∎ Contract duration : Initially for 02 years with a possibility of extension
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Internal and external communications in Country Directorate: prepare and edit correspondences, communications and other documents
∎ Support Country Director for managing important tasks/deadlines; and also in internal and external meetings
∎ Develop talking points for internal/external meeting of Country Director
∎ Prepare quality presentation and documents for Country Director
∎ Conduct research, collect and analyze data to prepare reports, presentation and documents
∎ Manage/ record documents and information maintaining confidentiality
∎ File and retrieve photos, documents and reference materials
∎ Manage and maintain Country Directors' schedules, appointments and travel, transport and accommodation.
∎ Arrange and co-ordinate meetings and events
∎ Record, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings
∎ Answer and manage incoming calls
∎ Receive and interact with visitors
∎ Support high profile visitors
∎ Liaise with internal, external and overseas personnel
∎ Maintain and update database of different donors, partners, stakeholders and media contacts.
∎ Maintain good relations with different departments within the organization and uphold WaterAid's values.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 02 years of relevant experience, this can be relaxed in case of excellent academic background or study from abroad.
∎ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the talent to convert complex technical information into accessible, clear messaging; attentive to details and use concise, persuasive writing.
∎ Excellent skill in preparing high quality presentation along with good analytical and communication skills
∎ Well conversant about analyses using excel
∎ High level of pro-activeness, creativity and ability to plan and manage multiple tasks setting priorities
∎ Well organized and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
∎ Aptitude to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
∎ Competent to solve problem and promote integrity and positive attitude,
∎ Familiar with the development sector in Bangladesh, contemporary issues and donor priorities
∎ Capability to work with a virtual cross-functional team
∎ Knowledge of standard software packages and the aptitude to learn organization specific software, if required.
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English language and their usage
∎ Ready to undertake field visits as required
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Starting monthly gross salary is BDT 56,500, other benefits include provident fund, gratuity, festival bonus, life insurance, hospitalisation insurance scheme for spouse and children, cell phone allowances etc Higher salary may be offered to highly competent/deserving candidate
