∎ A.Background:
∎ Kindernothilfe (German for "supporting children in need") is an International Child Rights Organisation which has been supporting vulnerable and marginalised children and youth in different parts of the world. Our global head office is located in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Kindernothilfe is among the largest NGOs for development cooperation in Germany.
∎ Kindernothilfe is a development partner to organizations in 32 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. We began working in Bangladesh following its independence. We partner with local organizations through a Child Rights Approach (CRA) with the aim of safeguarding the rights of poor, marginalized and/or abused children regardless of sex, race, ethnic origin, creed or religion. We work through community development, using the Self-Help Group Approach (SHA) and other specific strategic modalities to empower women and address child rights violations.
∎ In Bangladesh, the Self-Help Group Approach (SHA) forms the backbone of Kindernothilfe`s work. Currently, it has over 80% of the projects based on SHA and the rest on other modalities. The projects focus on geographical areas of high incidence/share of child poverty and multiple marginalizations.
∎ B. Profile of the Programme Coordinator:
∎ We are looking for a Programme Coordinator for our Bangladesh in-country coordination office (ICC). The ideal candidate would be a person with a deep commitment to be of service to children, women and underprivileged communities in Bangladesh. Needless to say, s/he will be of unquestioned integrity.
∎ The candidate would also need to be self-disciplined, able to plan, self-monitor and self-regulate her/his work. The ability to think out of the box with the bigger picture of an organization`s primary purpose in mind would be a definite plus. Flexibility, a sense of humour and the ability to work with diverse teams and individuals from different ethnic and religious backgrounds will be necessary to be a part of Kindernothilfe.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Learn, grasp and convey the principles and concepts of all our Child Rights Approaches and funding modalities to relevant stakeholders and partner organizations. This will include our two primary modalities of work, that of community development/women's empowerment (through the Self-Help Group Approach) and other specific strategic approaches.
∎ Support the ICC team with related field work for monitoring of our projects and funding modalities.
∎ Provide capacity building and related support to partner organizations.
∎ Coordinate the regular collection of information for reporting.
∎ The Programme Coordinator will work in a multi-functional team, where the whole team, coordinated by the Country Coordinator, reports to the South Asia Manager and the Head of the Asia Department at the Kindernothilfe, Head Office.
∎ Assist in preparing narrative reports, project progress reports and any other related documentation, as well as in reviewing and scrutinizing the reports of the partner organizations.
∎ Review proposals and conduct proposal discussions with partners.
∎ Participate in relevant activities with the Government agencies and civil society organizations when called upon.
∎ Support the team in timely project implementation, organizing events/activities and in internal/ external communications.
∎ Assist in continuing and updating documentation of best practices, learning and in using various web-based platforms.
∎ Proof read and translate documents where necessary.
∎ Provide language support to partners in different capacity building sessions, where relevant.
∎ Assist the Kindernothilfe team in any work related to the organisation's mandate.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrated commitment to development work and the ability to supervise implementation of projects.
∎ Minimum three year of working experience in a national or an international NGO or similar organization.
∎ Experience in capacity building, monitoring project results and preparing progress reports will be an advantage.
∎ Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bengali languages.
∎ Experience in working with MS office, Excel and similar programmes.
∎ Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple and competing priorities, and handle detail.
∎ Willingness to extensively travel to the project locations accross the country by public transport is essential.
∎ Demonstrated ability to learn new approaches and to adapt to fast changing external and internal dynamics.
∎ A basic knowledge of accountancy will be an advantage.
