Job Context:
∎ The Carter Center, an action-oriented non-governmental, non-partisan organization founded by former United States President Jimmy Carter, seeks experienced professional to serve as "Program and Admin Assistant" for the Women and the Right of Access to Information in Bangladesh (ATI) project, for one-year period, with the possibility of extension.
∎ The Program and Admin Assistant will report to the Field Office Director, Bangladesh and ultimately to the Rule of Law Program Director and be responsible for providing relevant programmatic, logistic, and administrative assistance to facilitate effective program implementation efforts by The Carter Center in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain regular office hours and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
∎ Assist Carter Center staff with document management and creation, including photocopying, scanning, typing, and translating.
∎ Maintain physical and electronic filing system of office documents. As necessary photocopy, scan, type documents.
∎ Assist in capturing and maintaining databases of contacts and activities.
∎ Maintain Asset panda, ESM, stocks (stationary), staffs' leave, Particular tracking etc.
∎ Assist in the development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of programming related to advancing the right of access to information for women in Bangladesh, including but not limited to:
∎ Help organize logistics for project events, workshops, trips, accommodations, transportation, meetings, awareness raising, training and other arrangements for the Carter Center staff, delegations, workshop participants, including setting and confirming appointment agendas and meetings.
∎ Help FAO to prepare voucher, collect invoices, assist FAO while necessary.
∎ Participate in and/or help facilitate meetings, awareness raising events, and trainings, including taking notes and preparing meeting reports as required.
∎ Assist in liaising with relevant stakeholders and partners, as requested.
∎ Undertake domestic travel to districts as related to project work, collet travel bills from TBs and compile.
∎ In coordination with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer and Program Officer, assist with project data collection, data entry and database maintenance.
∎ Assist in drafting and distributing reports, memoranda, correspondence, publications, briefing materials, and other documents related to the project.
∎ Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ The preferred candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic, and will:
∎ Have writing skills (both in Bangla and English)
∎ Be fluent in English and Bangla, both spoken and written
∎ Ability to function independently and in team settings, and work effectively with diverse groups of people
∎ Be proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
∎ Work experience with international organization will be given preference.
