∎ Job Summary
∎ PROTTYASHI, A social development organization has been responding the Rohingya Crisis in Cox's Bazar since the crisis started and currently is going to implement project in the Rohingya community of Cox’s Bazar with the funding of International Organization of Migration (IOM) to promote self-reliance of the Rohingya population. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Product Development Officer for the “Promoting Self-Reliance and Skill Development Activities for the Rohingya Refugees” Project.
∎ Reporting
∎ Product Development Officer will report to Project Coordinator of PROTTYASHI. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.
∎ Key Responsibilities
∎ • Develop and execute innovative strategies for the creation of handicraft products (jute, bamboo, wooden craft, hand stitching, hand-painted items) aimed at enhancing livelihoods for Rohingya refugees.
∎ • Research market trends and conduct needs assessments within the refugee and host community contexts to identify opportunities and preferences for craft products.
∎ • Collaborate with local artisans, designers, and craftspeople to conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality, culturally relevant craft items.
∎ • Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring designs are feasible, cost-effective, and align with cultural sensitivities.
∎ • Oversee quality control measures to ensure crafted products to meet market standards and are suitable for market distribution.
∎ • Collect feedback from the target communities to iteratively improve product designs and meet evolving needs.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 60,000 BDT contributory provident fund and regular traveling and communication bill.
