∎ Prottyashi, A social development organization has been responding the Rohingya Crisis in Cox`s Bazar since the crisis started and currently is going to implement project in the Rohingya community of Cox`s Bazar with the funding of International Organization of Migration (IOM). Prottyashi invites applications for the vacant position titled- Product Development Officer (Craft) for the "Promoting Self-Reliance Opportunities for Rohingya Refugees in Cox`s Bazar``. Project
∎ Reporting
∎ Product Development Officer (Craft) will report to Project Coordinator of Prottyashi. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization`s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and execute innovative strategies for the creation of craft products (jute, bamboo, wooden craft, hand stitching, hand-painted items) aimed at enhancing livelihoods for Rohingya refugees and the host community.
∎ Research market trends and conduct needs assessments within the refugee and host community contexts to identify opportunities and preferences for craft products.
∎ Collaborate with local artisans, designers, and craftspeople to conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality, culturally relevant craft items.
∎ Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring designs are feasible, cost-effective, and align with cultural sensitivities.
∎ Oversee quality control measures to ensure crafted products meet industry standards and are suitable for market distribution.
∎ Collect feedback from the target communities to iteratively improve product designs and meet evolving needs.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 5 years of experience in product development, particularly in the creation of craft items using jute, bamboo, wood, hand stitching, and hand painting techniques.
∎ Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies specific to craft-based product development.
∎ Understanding and appreciation of cultural nuances and preferences within the Rohingya and Cox's Bazar host communities.
∎ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
∎ Experience collaborating with local artisans and communities in crafting initiatives.
∎ Familiarity with sustainable practices in craft production.
∎ Knowledge of marketing or distribution channels for crafted products within refugee and local community contexts
∎ Candidates need to be highly motivated and committed to Prottyashi's vision, mission, and long-term development work to significantly improve the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalized. Candidates must be capable of displaying great learning agility, support and encourage knowledge sharing across projects, for the ultimate benefit of all of Prottyashi mission wide initiatives.
Salary:
∎ Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 62,000 BDT regular traveling and communication bill.
