Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 283 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ As partnership with Max Foundation Bangladesh, ESDO will implement the Healthy Village in Urban Program in Lalmonirhat District.
∎ ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare the monthly plan of activities and achievements as well monthly reports for the management and donor.
∎ Function as Business Development Officer on all project activities within an assigned district, under the supervision of the Project Manager.
∎ Good understanding of Markets Systems Development approach and facilitation including coaching, relationship building, communicating, open and willing to work on new initiatives.
∎ Identify potential market actors, sanitation and hygiene entrepreneurs, dealers, retailers, lead firms.
∎ Implement a variety of market linkage and business development activities related to nutrition, water and sanitation.
∎ Assess and improve skills and competencies of sanitation and hygiene related entrepreneurs (latrine producers) and businesses on a diverse range of business skills such as financial literacy, marketing, supply chain linkages, public sector linkages and technical capacity, etc.
∎ Build rapport and trust with sanitation and hygiene related entrepreneurs for effective communication and linkage development between community andentrepreneurs.
∎ Facilitate the development of business plans by the sanitation and hygiene entrepreneurs.
∎ Work together with the sanitation and hygiene entrepreneurs to ensure linkage of the sanitation and hygiene Value Chain Actor.
∎ Capacity to liaise closely with the relevant private sector (SMEs, associations, specialized organizations), government bodies, (I) NGOs and other projects at district/sub-district levels.
∎ Keeping records of all documentations and project implementation process.
∎ S/he will be working in close collaboration with DC Office, Pourshava, UNO, UnionParishad to ensure significant benefit to the beneficiary of the program.
∎ Capacity building of Community Business Promotors (CBP) engaging Government and Private sector's actors including linkage support
∎ Ensure that the feedback mechanism for accountability to staff and beneficiaries is operational in the project areas.
∎ Share weekly field activities updates with the Project Manager.
∎ Perform other duties assigned by Project Manager. Supervise the Urban Community Mobilization Facilitators for proper and timely implementation of the activities.
∎ Ensure proper documentation (both electronic and paper documentation) of all the activities.
∎ Capacity building of the Programme Staff and Community Business Promotors(CBP).
∎ Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/ management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ In case of highly experience staff age limit is flexible.
∎ At least 3-5 years working experience in relevant positions including 2years' experience in program implementation, monitoring and Staff Supervision.
∎ Good negotiation skills.
∎ Strong field facilitation skills, knowledge in village program implementation.
∎ Preference will be given to candidates having prior working experience in slum area.
∎ Willing to spend significant time in the field
∎ Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/ management. Familiar with bio-physical and socio-economic condition of Lalmonirhat district;
∎ Ability to work in a team with good interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to prioritize activities to act and decide promptly.
∎ Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in local language, English and Bengali;
∎ Pro-active and participatory decision-making and problem-solving;
∎ Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
∎ Good understanding on issues related to gender equity and protection.

Salary: Tk. 50000 (Monthly)
