Job Summary:
The Plant Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment used in the agro-based production plant. This role ensures all electrical operations run safely, efficiently, and with minimum downtime to support smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, control panels, and production machinery.
Inspect electrical systems, wiring, and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns.
Monitor power usage and help optimize energy efficiency in the plant.
Assist in installing new machinery and electrical layouts during plant expansion or upgrades.
Maintain proper documentation for maintenance activities, inspections, and spare parts usage.
Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or unplanned breakdowns.
Collaborate with mechanical and production teams for smooth plant operations.
Must have knowledge of LT, HT, PFI, and ATS panels.
Should be familiar with compressors used in normal and industrial air conditioners.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an industrial or plant electrician.
Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, PLC systems, sensors, and motor controls.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Awareness of safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) systems.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in a plant environment.
May require shift duties, weekend work, or on-call availability.
Exposure to noise, heat, and machinery operation areas.
