Q Hotel Dhaka is seeking a skilled and reliable General Technician - Electrical to join our engineering team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient electrical operations across the property to support guest comfort, maintain daily hotel functionality, and prevent operational downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on all hotel electrical systems, distribution boards (DB), sub-stations, and Busbar Trunking (BBT) systems.
System Installation & Upgrades: Install new electrical wiring, fixtures, switches, sockets, and distribution panels; assist in upgrading hotel electrical infrastructure for optimal efficiency and safety compliance.
Appliance & Equipment Repairs: Repair and troubleshoot electrical components of appliances including HVAC units, kitchen equipment, laundry machines, and elevators (in coordination with vendors where required).
Emergency & Backup Power: Conduct scheduled inspections of electrical panels, ensure generator changeover systems and UPS units function properly, and provide 24/7 support during outages or emergency breakdowns.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all hotel safety standards, electrical codes, proper grounding, insulation, and lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance; consistently use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain logbooks for maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and repair logs; report daily work activities and unresolved issues directly to the Head of MEP / Chief Engineer.
Cross-Departmental Support: Coordinate with engineering team members and liaise with external contractors for specialized electrical service requirements.
