Job Summary
The Automobile Electrical Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining all electrical and electronic systems of the Company's vehicles, including Hiace, Noah KR42, TownAce, and other operational vehicles. The role requires extensive hands-on experience in automotive electrical systems, fault diagnosis, wiring, and preventive maintenance to ensure maximum vehicle reliability and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in fleet vehicles, including Hiace, Noah KR42, TownAce, and similar vehicles.
Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of vehicle wiring systems, harnesses, relays, switches, sensors, and connectors.
Troubleshoot and repair charging systems, alternators, starters, batteries, voltage regulators, and ignition systems.
Inspect, repair, and maintain vehicle lighting systems, indicators, sirens, alarms, central locking systems, and other auxiliary electrical equipment.
Diagnose faults using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, test lamps, battery testers, and diagnostic tools.
Identify and rectify short circuits, grounding issues, wiring damage, and electrical component failures.
Install and maintain GPS tracking devices, communication equipment, dash cameras, and other operational accessories as required.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to identify potential electrical issues before breakdowns occur.
Attend emergency breakdowns and provide on-site troubleshooting and repair support when necessary.
Maintain records of repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper electrical repair standards.
Educational Requirements
Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automobile Electrical Technology, Automotive Electrical Systems, or a related discipline from a recognized Polytechnic Institute.
Technical certification in automotive electrical systems will be considered an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Vehicle/ Automobile Electrician.
Practical experience working in vehicle garages, workshops, service centers, or fleet maintenance facilities.
Proven experience in vehicle electrical wiring, fault diagnosis, and repair.
Experience working on Toyota Hiace, Noah KR42, TownAce, and similar commercial or fleet vehicles will be highly preferred.
Experience supporting operational fleets or commercial transport vehicles will be considered an advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
Expertise in vehicle wiring, circuit tracing, and electrical fault diagnosis.
Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic scanners to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot vehicle electrical and electronic faults.
Ability to read and interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and under pressure during vehicle breakdown situations.
