Experience:

• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, material planning, or production control, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
• Essential: Direct experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or assembly environment is required.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MIS.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Job Summary: The Production In-Process Inventory Supervisor will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout our production cycle. This hands-on position is responsible for the real-time tracking, management, and accuracy of all in-process inventory. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, planning, and warehouse teams to prevent line stoppages, minimize waste, and optimize the value of our WIP inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

WIP Inventory Tracking:

• Lead the physical tracking and system-based monitoring of all components, sub-assemblies, and materials from the moment they are issued to the production floor until they become finished goods.
• Ensure accurate consumption data is recorded in the ERP/MES system for each production stage.

Material Flow Coordination:

• Work directly with production line leaders and planners to ensure the timely and accurate supply of materials to each workstation, preventing bottlenecks and downtime.
• Oversee the staging of materials for upcoming production orders.

Accuracy & Reconciliation:

• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical audits of all in-process inventory on the production floor.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical WIP counts and system records, identifying root causes (e.g., scrap, rework, data entry errors).

Process Improvement & Waste Reduction:

• Analyze WIP levels, material flow, and holding times to identify opportunities for process optimization and inventory reduction.
• Collaborate with the production and quality teams to manage non-conforming materials, scrap, and rework processes effectively, ensuring they are accurately documented.

Supervision & Collaboration:

• Supervise a team of material handlers or stock controllers responsible for moving materials within the production area.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the main warehouse and the production floor for all inventory-related matters.

Reporting:

• Prepare and present regular reports on WIP inventory status, accuracy levels, scrap rates etc. to the Plant Management.
