  • Good communication skills in both Bengali and English.



Responsibilities & Context:

GMS, a state of art and a leading national export trophy winner and one of the largest knit garments manufacturing company in Bangladesh is going to recruit "Manager/Senior Manager - Mechanical" for Factory Unit & MUST HAVE TO STAY NEAR THE WORKPLACE, LOCATED IN SARDAGANJ, KASHIMPUR, GAZIPUR.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage preventive and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical equipment.

  • Ensure maintenance for operation Knitting, Dyeing, Yarn Dyeing, AOP, Printing, Washing, Trims & Accessories machineries.

  • Oversee maintenance of boilers, air compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, pumps, and other utility systems.

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and SOPs for mechanical systems.

  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers, supervisors, and technicians across shifts.

  • Train and guide team members on machine handling, safety procedures, and maintenance techniques.

  • Allocate resources efficiently and ensure adequate manpower planning.

  • Supervise installation and commissioning of new machinery or mechanical systems.

  • Ensure mechanical systems are aligned with production layout and safety standards.

  • Monitor performance of critical utility systems: boilers, chillers, air compressors, generators, and HVAC systems.

  • Maintain an updated inventory of critical spare parts and consumables.

  • Coordinate with purchase/procurement team for timely procurement of spares.

  • Reduce unnecessary inventory while ensuring availability during breakdowns.

  • Implement initiatives to improve energy efficiency in mechanical systems.

  • Analyze maintenance costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Reduce machine downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety standards (e.g., boiler safety, pressure vessel regulations).

  • Conduct safety audits of mechanical equipment and rectify issues proactively.

  • Provide weekly/monthly reports to senior management on machine performance, breakdown analysis, and project progress.

  • Lead factory expansion or upgrade projects involving mechanical systems.

  • Prepare project plans, budgets, and progress reports.

  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and production departments for cross-functional execution.

  • Well conversant in RSC & LEED Requirement.
