Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist surgeon during any surgery.
∎ Prepare patient for procedure/surgery.
∎ Monitor and ensure functionality of Operation Theater equipment/instrument and ensure proper sterilization.
∎ Support Eye unit, Dental unit and other unit whenever required.
∎ Carry out Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) for patients during health session.
∎ Managing the OT stock and logistics and timely reporting.
∎ Maintain daily departmental quality checklist.
∎ Prepare surgical patient list for secondary health camp.
∎ Prepare Operation Theatre for the surgery.
∎ To assist any surgery with surgeon or Medical Officer.
∎ Take consent in consent form from the patient.
∎ To do regular dressing of post -operative patient and other patient who undergone any procedure.
∎ To check & run electronic equipment to continue service.
∎ To perform sterilization procedures (autoclave, ETO) for surgical instruments on as daily basis and maintain logbook of sterilization.
∎ Ensure support to eye department, and dental unit as per need based on roster.
∎ Prepare monthly/quarterly requisition for OT surgical items and consumables.
∎ Help to prepare OT requisition for secondary medical camps, regular surgery and procedure.
∎ Manage the recovery ward patient and actively help in post operative management.
∎ To counsel patient and patient attendance regarding surgical procedure.
∎ Help to maintain the cleanliness of the tent both inside and outside during secondary health camps.
∎ Support in providing health camp medicines requisition during secondary camps.
∎ Ensure daily quality checklist with assets status (functional or not) – Daily.
∎ Prepare monthly report of OT activities and stock balance of OT medicine, expiry date of medicine and near expiry medicine list.
∎ To Inform and disseminate program activities to the community leaders, allied persons and FCMs through outreach and BCC team.
∎ To attend Training on Infection Prevention Practice under supervision of Program Manager.
∎ Adhere to the safeguarding policy and organizational policy.
∎ Any work assigned as per advice of higher authority.
∎ HSC or above from recognized institution with two years’ experience as O.T.
∎ Assistant from a recognized hospital/clinic.
∎ Excellent communication skills and desire to learn.
∎ Flexible, highly committed & motivated to work in remote locations, specially in riverine areas.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills.
∎ Good teamwork exposure.
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are other pre-requisites.
