Diploma or degree in Tea Technology, Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.

Working Experience:

5-7 years of proven experience as a Tea Tester, or similar role.

Strong sensory skills with the ability to distinguish subtle differences in taste and aroma.

Good knowledge of tea varieties, grades, processing methods, and quality parameters.

Basic computer skills for record keeping and reporting.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent sensory evaluation and palate consistency.

Attention to detail and strong observation skills.

Ability to work independently and make objective quality judgments.

Good communication and reporting skills.

Physical ability to conduct repeated tasting sessions responsibly.

To support the expansion of our sales operations and further strengthen our Tea Department, we are seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and dedicated professional for the position of Officer / Senior Officer – Tea Tester in the Quality Assurance Department.

Job Purpose:

The Tea Tester is responsible for evaluating the quality, taste, aroma, and appearance of tea to ensure consistency and compliance with company quality standards. The role supports raw tea selection, quality assurance, product development, and supplier assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular tea tasting sessions to assess flavor, aroma, color, and overall quality.

Grade and classify tea based on established tasting standards and company specifications.

Identify quality variations, defects, or inconsistencies and report findings to management.

Maintain tasting records, evaluation notes, and quality reports accurately.

Support raw tea selection and approval from suppliers and estates.

Assist in developing blends to maintain consistent taste profiles.

Work closely with production and quality control teams to ensure product standards are met.

Monitor storage conditions and handling practices to preserve tea quality.

Participate in trial batches, new product evaluations, and seasonal assessments.

Ensure hygiene, safety, and tasting protocols are followed at all times.

Workplace: Barobkunud, Sitakundu, Chattogram.
