Job Context:
∎ By influencing policy and practice through rigorous research and quality academic programmes, BIGD aims to promote innovation in governance and development processes towards a more just and prosperous society. Partnering with academics around the world, BIGD conducts multi-method research on governance and development issues in close collaboration with several crucial departments of the Government of Bangladesh, large non-profits organizations such as BRAC, and different international universities and agencies. BIGD oversees BRAC International`s Independent Research and Evaluation Cell (IERC), which works in ten countries across Asia and Africa. BIGD also hosts the Country Office of the International Growth Centre (IGC), London School of Economics (LSE); and the ED of BIGD heads the IGC Country Office.
∎ Position Summary:
∎ Brac Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), based at Brac University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, seeks a Officer- Accounts who is primarily responsible for maintaining and managing day to day operational activities relates to Finance and Accounts and keeping all kinds of Books of Account of BIGD (BRAC institute of Governance and Development), BRAC University as per policies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Day to day petty cash maintain, Banking operation, Cheque preparation and disbursement accurately and posting to software.
∎ Ensuring payments against all kinds voucher and booking of those expenses under appropriate project head of Account.
∎ Maintaining and managing all kinds of primary books of account, i.e.: manual Cash & Bank Book, Advance Register, Party Register, and Cheque Payment Register.
∎ Keeping voucher, documents and records properly and safely.
∎ Any other function as may be assigned by the Finance / Accounts Manager or his/her delegated person.
∎ Contribute to preparation of quarterly Project Implementation Reports and Project Completion Report
∎ Audit related preparations for both external, internal and donor's audit

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 30 years
∎ 1 year's relevant experience is preferable.
∎ Good interpersonal skills and relationship with others and communication skills.
∎ Good knowledge on MS office.
∎ Strong sense of managing work in time
