Job Context:
∎ The Occupational Therapist will identify, assess and provide intervention to children with disabilities in community setting, home and school based by mobilization of local resources and follow HI approaches on disability issues, build up capacity of community workers and relevant staff. The Occupational Therapist will maintain collaboration and linkage among other technical staff. S/he will plan, implement and report activities to the Senior Project Officer and other relevant department in HI. S/he will take part in capacity building training and/or provide necessary training as guided by Technical Unit.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibility 1: support to beneficiaries
∎ Develop individual profile for the target people, identification and conduct assessment of children with disabilities and set up personalized plan.
∎ Provide specific home and school adaptations for children with disabilities.
∎ Conduct regular and frequent support visits to the beneficiaries' house and school to provide continuous follow-up services throughout the project duration.
∎ Identify and implement the reasonable accommodations as well as all the actions to make the environment accessible.
∎ Responsibility 2: support and capacity development of staff, volunteers, consortium partners and other relevant actors
∎ Supervise community volunteers who are engaged in relevant intervention.
∎ Provide training to HI staff, community volunteers and consortium partners and establish internal and external referral or connected services for people with disabilities.
∎ Provide technical support to other partners in different sectors to mainstream disability.
∎ Responsibility 3: Following on referral mechanism that is implemented
∎ Explore the existing stakeholders who are providing rehabilitation support; formal and informal stakeholders, support the creation of a service mapping.
∎ Strengthen referral links with rehabilitation actors.
∎ Develop functional linkage among external actors and relevant stakeholders.
∎ Ensure comprehensive and inclusive services
∎ Responsibility 4: Awareness raising and dissemination of information
∎ Contribute in developing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and its dissemination; ensure inclusion related information.
∎ Respect Donor/project communication and visibility guideline in materials created.
∎ Support in finding creating ways of dissemination of information.
∎ Working with community leaders, community volunteers for dissemination of information
∎ Responsibility 5: Networking and Coordination
∎ Attending coordination and networking meetings as directed by line manager
∎ Assist other team members to develop linkages and maintaining regular contact and working relation with all relevant stakeholders including relevant Government departments and humanitarian actors as needed.
∎ Assist Project Team in establishing network with various organizations working in the field of disability, protection, psycho-social and mental health issue. Exchange experiences and lesson learning with the network organization to better guide our service mechanism.
∎ Responsibility 6: Reporting
∎ Provide weekly and monthly reports
∎ Ensure that all activities for speech and language beneficiaries are captured in the survey CTO.
∎ Responsibility 7: Conduct
∎ Be caring, compassionate and maintain good communication with beneficiaries at all times
∎ Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice
∎ Respect beneficiaries' confidentiality.
∎ Respect and promote HI's Policies and report to your line manager any breach of HI's policies amongst the teams or partners.
∎ Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
∎ Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers
∎ Always ask the permission to touch or to apply any treatment or mobilizations to someone.
∎ Always respect a refusal of treatment.

∎ Communication skills in verbal and written Bangla and English
∎ Previous NGO work experience
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- including Excel -- both in English and Bangla);
