Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ In particular, the Nutrition Program Specialist will have the following key responsibilities:
∎ Plan and manage the activities under the workstreams of nutrition program of friendship as :
∎ Intensifying and institutionalizing nutrition activities and use of nutrition-specific interventions in the outreach program
∎ Review the current nutrition program of Friendship outreach to identify areas of development and plan short- and medium-term strategies to further strengthen the overall nutrition program, especially in alignment with project “………….
∎ Integration of nutrition actions with nutrition-sensitive programs and to work closely with the GO and NGOs to improve nutrition program both at local and national level
∎ Coordinate with identified sectors for integration of nutrition interventions, its planning, execution and assessment.
∎ Support in Donor reporting.
∎ Technical and Analytical Support
∎ Review nutrition and related technical policy and program notes and papers for input.
∎ Consolidate data and information for nutrition and related analytical products, conduct literature searches, and provide input to the sector analytical pieces. Promote the integration of nutrition into maternal, child and adolescent health programs and delivery platforms, while ensuring that it takes place within the broader health system strengthening efforts at all level
∎ Participate in meetings convened by Friendship and nutrition development partners and donors to represent the Friendship.
∎ Prepare meeting notes focusing on follow-up actions required.
∎ Coordinate with the field team to ensure that the follow-up actions to be undertaken by the Organizations are executed.
∎ Undertake regular field visit to monitor the progress of the nutrition activities, outcome and results
∎ Will develop, get approved and follow RBMF of the entire nutrition program as well as of the project
∎ Coordinate closely with Human Development, other partners to support nutrition at the country level. Support the monitoring and evaluation of projects, including conducting base line and end line survey
∎ Monitor and follow up data through working in close collaboration with the M&E person
∎ Participate in and contribute to technical assistance work to support relevant capacity-building activities, if needed may be extended to workshops, seminars, etc.
∎ Participate in and contribute to policy dialogue with government counterparts – at local level with expected results
∎ The work will be substantive in nature, requiring frequent interactions with various external and internal counterparts and field-based team
∎ The Health/Nutrition specialist will report to the Team Leader. For day-to-day operational and analytical activities, the selected candidate will contribute to, co-lead or lead assigned tasks, and work closely with relevant colleagues, Development Partners
Additional Requirements:
∎ Relevant work experience in the areas of nutrition (mandatory), public health, development, or health system management.
∎ Experience of working in planning, delivering and evaluating nutrition programs in Bangladesh or a similar country.
∎ Fluency (excellent oral and written communication skills) in English and Bangla is essential with ability to prepare documents, speak and write persuasively, and present ideas clearly and concisely.
∎ Ability to function well independently and handle multiple tasks, meet changing priorities and deliver high-quality analysis and work on-time.
