Job Context:
∎ Helen Keller International (HKI), Action Against Hunger (ACF) and implementing partner (IP) will work in the proposed project area to ensure the vulnerable households are adequately covered while avoiding overlapping. HKI with ACF and IP will take initiative to identify gaps in livelihood recovery efforts and collaborate with other projects to minimize the gaps. At the end of the proposed project, HKI together with ACF &IP will try to explore avenues for linking the project beneficiaries to next level of development programs such as short-term economic recovery in order to support them for longer-term economic growth. Furthermore, the project will coordinate with Food Security Sector (FSS) and Cash Working Group (CWG) in Cox`s Bazar as well as government authorities on a regular basis.
∎ HKI is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions for its FFP.
∎ Reporting to : Deputy Chief of Party - FFP Project and Director-Nutrition
∎ Duration : The expected project period is through March 2021; start date in November/ December 2019.
∎ Scope of Work: Under the supervision and technical guidance from the DCoP and Director Nutrition the Nutrition and Gender Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to all nutrition and gender-related activities and overseeing the implementation of gender strategy for the FFP emergency response project. Her/his main responsibilities involve monitoring the impact of FFP`s activities on nutrition, gender equality and social inclusion. S/he will work closely with the MEAL Managers, Livelihoods Specialist, MIS and GIS Specialist, Communication and Advocacy Specialist, implementing partner staff, and other relevant team members to ensure effective, timely and quality implementation of nutrition and gender activities. S/he will assist the DCoP in the planning, implementation and follow-up of nutrition and gender-related activities such as nutrition- awareness training sessions and the roll-out of the integrated gender and nutrition curriculum. She will oversee and guide the integration of gender sensitivity throughout project interventions. S/he will also be responsible for conducting Nutrition -related training for staff and participants as needed, monitoring interventions for compliance with appropriate application of Gender transformative approaches, raising concerns related to potential barriers to GESI and promoting women`s economic development. The nutrition and gender specialist will work both individually and in team to provide clear, actionable feedback on how to increase impact in nutrition, gender and GESI within each of the interventions and how to increase quality of appropriate delivery mechanisms.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the development of Nutrition related training module, materials and messages to be used in the program activities for women
∎ Conduct training to community facilitators, partner organizations and GoB staff as required.
∎ Provide technical assistance, training and mentoring to build the capacity of technical officer - nutrition & gender to apply nutrition and gender-sensitive approaches to extension activities.
∎ Provide technical assistance to develop SBCC materials on gender sensitive nutrition materials
∎ Collaborate with the other Technical Officers and follow-up of training sessions in the field;
∎ Demonstrate an understanding of gender-based inequalities and will work to help project beneficiaries enjoy greater nutrition and gender parity.
∎ Provide technical assistance to ensure that nutrition and M&E activities and that the M&E system measures nutrition related changes in targeted HHs.
∎ Use appropriate tools to plan, review and track implementation progress of program activities, ensuring active and proportional participation by project beneficiaries in productive, CFW and value-chain activities.
∎ Provide technical advice to promote men's participation in health and nutrition activities.
∎ Develop good working relations with partner organizations; exchange information, experiences and contribute actively to nutrition, gender learning with program staff and among partner organizations.
∎ Serve as the field point person for nutrition and gender.
∎ Any other jobs assigned by Supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Job related experience and knowledge
∎ 5 years of progressive professional experience working on nutrition and gender responsive and transformative programming in development.
∎ Demonstrated experience and leadership supervising the implementation of nutrition and gender activities, capacity-building on nutrition, gender and design of behavior change curricula.
∎ Experience working with Government and Non-government stakeholders including the implementing partners.
∎ Demonstrated ability to represent HKI in official capacity during internal and external meetings and to report in a timely, professional manner.
∎ Demonstrated ability to provide technical inputs to the design of the nutrition and gender activities and relevant training materials.
∎ Effective communication and language skills - strong interpersonal skills in dealing with external contacts, as well as internal colleagues.

To achieve this objective, HKI is working in partnership with CRS, CARITAS Bangladesh, five local implementing partners, individuals, communities, traditional institutions and the Government of Bangladesh to affect enduring positive change by addressing immediate needs while investing in the future of food security and resilience.
