Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters degree in natural sciences, disaster risk reduction or engineering discipline with direct relevance to the position.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years of work experience in technical role evaluating and assessing natural hazards including field assessments, preferably complemented with experience in a national level advisory/specialist role focusing on natural hazards or disaster risk reduction;
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, flexible attitude and ability to communicate and work well with diverse people a must;
∎ Experience in leading or chairing complex coordination bodies or structures would be a strong advantage;
∎ Previous work experience from multi-agency/multi-level processes and projects, in the national cluster system or other Government-facing disaster management structures/projects/interventions would be an advantage;
∎ Previous experience of working with UN agencies or international organizations operating in humanitarianism or development would be an advantage.
