• Physically fit and willing to travel extensively in rural and semi-urban areas.

Project Background:

The Eye Mitro Project is one of EssilorLuxottica flagship inclusive business programs, improve access to vision care and enhance livelihoods in underserved communities. The program addresses three key challenges:

• Providing vision correction

• Developing skills

• Creating Entrepreneurship

Specific Responsibility of a Mobilizer:

To Identify and Motivate Educated Unemployed Youth for Optician Training under the Eye Mitra Project

As part of the Eye Mitra Project’s goal to create self-reliance through entrepreneurship in the eyewear business, the Mobilizer plays a key role in identifying, engaging, and enrolling educated but unemployed youth—especially in rural and semi-urban areas into the Eye Mitro Optician Training Course. The course empowers them with practical skills in vision care and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities:

• Identify educated unemployed youth, especially SSC or graduate-level individuals who are seeking employment or income opportunities.

• Conduct community meetings, youth group sessions, and one-on-one discussions to inform about the Eye Mitra Optician Course and its benefits.

• Distribute brochures, posters, and success stories of previous Eye Mitros to generate interest.

• Personally counsel potential candidates and their families about the career opportunities available after completing the course.

• Develop monthly and weekly plans for vision screening events in collaboration with Eye Mitros.

• Ensure accurate data collection by the team during each event.

• Explain how the training can lead to self-employment, small business ownership, and a stable income by selling eyeglasses and providing basic eye care in their locality.

• Closely with school teachers, community leaders, union members, youth clubs, and religious Work institutions to spread awareness and reach more youth.

• Assist interested youth in completing the application process for the Eye Mitro Optician Course.

• Submit weekly reports to the Centre Head with details of youth mobilized, number enrolled, and challenges faced.
