Experience:
Strong understanding of sexual and reproductive health services and the government health system.Proven experience in safe delivery, childbirth, neonatal care, and family planning services.Demonstrated skills in training, mentoring, and staff capacity development.
Objective 1: Full Assessment of At-Risk Infants (<6 months) and Their Mothers
Conduct comprehensive assessments of infants and mothers, including:
Checking for danger signs in infants.
Assessing clinical signs, symptoms, and growth indicators.
Identifying feeding risks, key risk factors, and maternal mental health concerns.
Participate in and/or conduct continuous medical education (CME) and staff skills/capacity development activities.
Provide family planning counseling and services to patients.
Explain reproductive health procedures and create a compassionate care environment, offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
Assist patients, families, and caregivers in understanding illnesses, medications, and self-care techniques; answer queries.
Maintain accurate patient records, data collection, and service documentation.
Ensure proper infection prevention practices, including sterilization of instruments and use of sterile supplies.
Provide care according to duty rosters and maintain all instruments and sterilization equipment.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Objective 2: Management of At-Risk Infants and Mothers in Low-Resource Settings
Enroll at-risk mother–infant pairs and conduct biweekly follow-ups for health and growth monitoring.
Support exclusive breastfeeding, addressing common concerns such as: excessive crying, sleep issues, maternal confidence, and breast-related conditions (engorgement, sore nipples, mastitis).
Provide care for mothers of special cases, including oral thrush, low-weight infants, multiple births, adolescent mothers, or mothers separated from infants.
Support milk expression, storage, cup feeding, and re-lactation techniques.
Refer mothers to MHPSS counselors for mental health and psychosocial support.
Facilitate maternal cash support for essential health and non-health needs.
Ensure linkage with immunization and preventive healthcare services.
Objective 3: Functional Referral of At-Risk Infants and Mothers
Ensure timely referrals to Upazila Health Complex (UHC) or specialized services for:-
Infants with IMCI danger signs or severe acute medical problems.
o Children with oedema, severe wasting (WLZ < -3 SD, MUAC < 110 mm), or failure to gain weight.
o Infants with congenital or chronic health conditions (e.g., heart disease, HIV, TB, cerebral palsy).
o Mothers with severe depression, disabilities, adolescent motherhood risk, or other complex social circumstances.
o Cases requiring specialized or long-term follow-up care.
Objective 4: Provide Quality ANC, PNC, and Family Planning Services
Deliver routine antenatal care (ANC) services to pregnant women.
Provide postnatal care (PNC) services to lactating mothers.
Conduct family planning counseling and ensure linkage with existing services.
Facilitate referrals for maternal health complications as needed.
Objective 5: Supervision of Community Management of Uncomplicated SAM Children
Supervise and mentor volunteers on assessment, admission, follow-up, and discharge of uncomplicated SAM cases according to CMAM/national guidelines.
Monitor treatment adherence, including distribution of nutrition vouchers, enhanced counseling, cooking demonstrations, and provision of micronutrient supplements.
Ensure referral and reporting mechanisms are functional and that complicated cases are escalated to higher-level facilities (e.g., SAM corner of UHC).
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
