Responsibilities & Context:
The Merchandiser holds the accountability for working closely with team from product development and sampling stage till shipment ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely dispatch in collaboration with cross-functional teams. He will Independently execute Knit and Woven product development, understand latest fashion trends, source new yarns, and develop customer specific collections.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure production and samples follow up with factories and related procedures
- Ensure smooth communication with customers and suppliers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals.
- Continuously update the woven and knit fabrics, trims, print embroideries, washes and stitch library including technical data and price ideas for easy reference
- Understand customer requirements and work closely with the design team to manage the correct samples within time and quality.
- Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
- Prepare the QA files for on time handover
- Source trims, accessories, and fabrics (both overseas and local)
- Prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories.
- Arrange lab dip, trims, bulk fabric color, and quality testing for customer approval
- Work closely with the fabric mills and suppliers ahead of design packs to develop new fabrics and finishes to reduce lead time.
- Ensure on-time delivery with the right quality and quantity.
- Visit factories regularly to get market intelligence.
- Coordinate and monitor the quality of the product through quality personnel.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, margins, and production efficiency for senior management review.
