Experience:
Completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized institution with a valid BMDC license.
At least 1-year intensive Postgraduate training in Paediatrics from a recognized institution. Having worked in multicultural environments which required good clinical judgement
At least 2- 3 years working experience as Medical Officer (SCANU) in reputed hospital
Previous experience in working in NICU/SCANU/NSU Services will get preference
Working experience in public health facilities under World Bank supported Health and Gender Support Program will be preferred.

Reportable to: Hospital Superintendent, District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar
Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.
Monitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with UNICEF will deploy a group of staff for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.

Job Objective:
To lead operational activities under Inclusive Services and Opportunities for Host Communities and Displaced Rohingya Population (ISO), a project funded by the Government of Bangladesh and the World Bank is to manage investments primarily at 4 hard-to-reach Upazilas level of care towards the strengthening of Health and Nutrition services. As a part of human resource support, PHD and UNICEF proposes health responses for maintaining a facility-based Primary Health Care (PHC) inclusive of Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health Services (MNCAH), while ensuring the quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the technical supervision of UNICEF’s Health Section at Cox’s Bazar, and in collaboration with the authority of assigned District Hospital, Superintendent office, CS-Office and relevant government institutions, each Medical Officer, by staying in duty area, will undertake the following tasks, not limited to:
Work as a medical officer in managing all Pediatric and Neonatal cases including clinical interventions independently, wherever and whenever needed both general and emergency set up especially those are being referred from the UH&FWC/USC, Community Clinics and Community or from private doctor/clinics.
Deliver specialized care for sick and premature new-borns admitted to the SCANU, including initiating and monitoring life-support measures and advanced neonatal interventions. Perform the ward rounds.
Conduct regular ward rounds and assess the condition of all admitted pediatric and neonatal patients both in routine/scheduled and emergency set up.
Provide emergency care and clinical interventions in both routine and acute cases, including resuscitation, ventilation support, and fluid/electrolyte management etc.
Supervise, support and mentor Nurses and other mid-level healthcare professionals in neonatal and paediatric care practices.
Provide proper services to the neonates and children patients admitted in the inpatient wards performing duty-roster as and when needed to cover 24/7 services.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports of routine service delivery reports, mortality/morbidity data (time bound ESS Performance Reporting, Accident/Incident Reporting), including those required for donor and government reporting other requests for information as required.
Should have willingness to receive awareness trainings related to ESS, CFM, PSEA and other applicable for the project
Assist conducting spot check, ESS monitoring by the auditor, UNICEF or donor
Take part actively during the missions conducted by UNICEF or donor
Support ESS focal to fulfill UNICEF and donor requirement
Provide support to manage and monitoring of essential drug and supply stocks in coordination with the hospital pharmacy, medicine/store or logistics unit to avoid out of stock situations.
Active engagement with referral and management of transportation for the patients to higher facilities as required. He/she will take the help of WhatsApp/Viber group involving all concerned for ensuring timely, effective and documented communication with all.
Coordinate the maintenance of updated medical records, neonatal case registers, and disease profiles, ensuring data entry into DHIS2 while maintaining confidentiality.
Maintain functional relation with and accountability to the in-charge of the respective authority (Superintendent, RMO, Consultants).
Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards.
Any other assignment given by PHD management
