Experience:
Completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized institution with a valid BMDC license.
At least 1-year intensive Postgraduate training in Gynae and Obs/Paediatrics from a recognized institution.
Having worked in multicultural environments which required good clinical judgement
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in healthcare service delivery
Previous experience in working in NICU/SCANU/NSU Services will get preference
Working experience in public health facilities under World Bank supported Health and Gender Support Program will be preferred.

Reportable to: UH&FPO - Upazila Health Complex at Upazila level
Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.
Monitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with UNICEF will deploy a group of staff for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.
Work station: Upazila Health Complexes (UHCs) of Kutubdia, Moheshkhali, Hatiya, Sandwip, Teknaf and Ukhiya
Job Objective:
To lead operational activities under Inclusive Services and Opportunities for Host Communities and Displaced Rohingya Population (ISO), a project funded by the Government of Bangladesh and the World Bank is to manage investments primarily at 4 hard-to-reach Upazilas level of care towards the strengthening of Health and Nutrition services. As a part of human resource support, PHD and UNICEF proposes health responses for maintaining a facility-based Primary Health Care (PHC) inclusive of Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health Services (MNCAH), while ensuring the quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the technical supervision of UNICEF’s Health Section at Cox’s Bazar, and in collaboration with the authority of assigned UHCs, CS-Office and relevant government institutions, each Medical Officer, by staying in duty area, will undertake the following tasks, not limited to:
Work as a medical doctor in managing Paediatrics/Neonatal cases/Gynecological and Obstetric cases especially those will be referred from the UH&FWC/USC, CC and Community.
Life-saving Medical/Surgical support in all emergency cases, with No Official Delay, in medico-legally applicable cases, wherever the portal of entry to Health Complex.
Provide consistent care to the patients admitted in the inpatient wards performing roster duties as and when needed to cover 24/7 services.
Assess, monitor, interpret the vital signs and symptoms with particular attention and follow up action as feasible.
Prescribe medicine as required to optimize the clinical condition and provide necessary information and counselling to the patient or affected family members as well as organize follow up of the patients where necessary.
Monitor and ensure adherence to IPC protocols within clinical areas to minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections.
Perform or assist in medical and surgical procedures, both as scheduled / elective and emergency operations.
Enhance focus on communicable and non-communicable diseases
Provide care that respects local customs and is sensitive to the needs of female patients, adolescents, and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV)
Active engagement with referral and management of transportation for the patients to higher facilities as required.
Maintain close coordination with partners and provide technical support to the colleagues.
Keeping daily patient data and maintaining medical records along with disease profiles.
Follow the daily checklist for ensuring all medical supplies are properly.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports (time bound ESS Performance Reporting, Accident/Incident Reporting), including those required for donor and government reporting other requests for information as required.
Should have willingness to receive awareness trainings related to ESS, CFM, PSEA and other applicable for the project
Assist conducting spot check, ESS monitoring by the auditor, UNICEF or donor
Take part actively during the missions conducted by UNICEF or donor
Support ESS focal to fulfill UNICEF and donor requirement
Coordinate with data entry operators to collect medical information and other details into DHIS2 with maintaining confidentiality.
Perform such other relevant duties assign by the hospital authority (UHFPO/RMO/Consultants)
S/he will maintain functional relation with and accountability to the in-charge of the respective Upazila Health Complex (UHC)
Any other assignment given by PHD management.
