Job Context:
∎ GRAUS is going to implement an anticipated six months project named `Integrated response to COVID-19 crisis through healthcare, WASH and protection programs`` with the support of Save the Children International in Lama and Alikadom Upazilas of Bandarban Hill District. GRAUS intends to hire a competent, experienced and qualified Medical Officer for this project. The positions confirmation is subjected to the donor approval and availability of funding.
∎ Base Office : Lama and Alikadom Upazilas.
∎ Work Place : Lama and Alikadom Upazilas.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support Upazila Health and Family Planning department in line with Upazila COVID response plan in terms of:
∎ Support UHCs for establishing and functioning of Triage and Screen area/"Fever Clinic" and COVID-19 Isolation facility at Health Complex
∎ Effectively screening of patients to identify suspected COVID and non-suspected patients, refer suspected patients to appropriate center for PCR test and provide treatment as per national protocols/standards
∎ Fill gaps of critical health service providers (i.e., nurses, ancillary support staff) for isolation and triage area as per budget availability
∎ Provide necessary medicines, medical equipment and supplies for isolation and triage area as per project plan
∎ Assist in restoring WASH services/facilities at UHCs (triage area and isolation center)
∎ Organize trainings/refresher trainings for service providers on national protocols/guidelines
∎ Ensure availability of relevant guidelines and protocols-
∎ Regular technical supervision and monitoring (on-site and remote)
∎ Provide technical support to mobile medical team on:
∎ Enhance capacity through appropriate training, orientation and hands-on support.
∎ Home based treatment and medication to potential suspected patients and advising families on home-based care (isolation, social distancing, use of mask),
∎ Referring risks patients to appropriate facilities for COVID tests, better treatment and management;
∎ Preparing monthly work plan and reports
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ At least 4 years experiences of working in any health service delivery project in terms of patients' management (outpatient and inpatient departments). Public Health Experience. Working experience in CHT will get preference.
∎ Adequately aware of government's health system at Upazila and below and aware of the scale and devastation of COVID-19 across the country
∎ Experience of working closely with government functionaries, local government institutions, and private and non-government organizations will get preference.
∎ Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload
∎ Ability to contribute to develop a proactive team, working collaboratively with colleagues and support as necessary
∎ Computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email and web browsing
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
∎ Written and verbal skills in both Bengali and English
∎ Working experience in WASH program /Excellent understanding is a plus
∎ Working experience with CHT local communities will be considered as suitability of the candidature.
∎ Age will be relaxed for experienced candidates.
Salary: Tk. 120000 (Monthly)
