Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in English Language
∎ University degree desirable, Mental Health or SRH knowledge essential.
∎ Training/Trade Course: Mental Health,SRH
∎ Skills Required: Effective Communication

∎ At least 1 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Health, NGO/ Other Services, public health, Translation
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO
∎ Freshers are also encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Verbal interpretation, in person or remotely, during daily medical activities (medical round, consultations, interviews, meetings, etc.) and written translations, from the mission language to local language(s) or vice versa, in order to ensure accurate, respectful, fluent and confidential communication between medical staff and local population.
∎ Inform medical staff about important cultural nuances to consider during a meeting, medical consultation or interview with local people.
∎ Participate in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter.
∎ Provide face to face interpreting, as well as during telephone and radio calls or other telecom devices, when necessary.
∎ Adapt communication to any circumstances, using appropriate language registry as well as diplomatic and courtesy manners.
∎ Translate MSF internal / external documents into local language(s).
∎ Keep record of all translated documents.
∎ Look after all equipment provided, i.e. dictionaries or other books that belong to MSF
∎ Ensure confidentiality and medical secrecy
∎ Provide translation from Chittagongian dialect to English and vice versa during supervision consultations word by word as expressed for Mental Health (MH)/ SRH department
∎ Ensure the code of conduct when working with medical patients during OPD
∎ Provide translation for trainings, discussions and meetings for MH/ SRH department
∎ Support medical unit expats by translation upon request
∎ Ensure transfer of clear messages during translation with proper pause, eye contact and body language
∎ Accompany MHAM or MWAM in community visits & home visits of patients enrolled with MH/ SRH department

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 22 years
∎ - Fluent in English, Bangla and Chittagong languages and/or dialects essential
∎ - NGO experience desirable
∎ - Mental Health or SRH knowledge essential.
∎ - Candidates living in Ukhiya will be prioritized
∎ - Only female candidates will be considered for the SRH interpreter

Compensation & Other Benefits:
