Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential Higher secondary education, Bachelor degree preferable,
∎ Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) is preferable
∎ At least 1 (one) Experience as a Medical Interpreter in a healthcare setting is Preferable
∎ Experience with MSF or other NGOs is Preferable
∎ Essential fluency in language: English, Chittagonian Dialects and Rohingya language.
∎ Proven Proficiency in medical terminology in both Bangla and English Language.
∎ Proficiency Certificates in the English language will be desirable
∎ Essential computer skills- MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet.
∎ Education

Requirements:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Inform medical staff about important cultural nuances to consider during a meeting, medical consultation or interview with local people.
∎ Participate in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter.
∎ Provide face to face interpreting, as well as during telephone and radio calls or other telecom devices, when necessary.
∎ Adapt communication to any circumstances, using appropriate language registry as well as diplomatic and courtesy manners.
∎ Translate MSF internal / external documents into local language(s).
∎ Keep record of all translated documents.
∎ Look after all equipment provided, i.e. dictionaries or other books that belong to MSF
∎ Ensure confidentiality and medical secrecy.
∎ Actively participate in the community and clinic test and treat activities as an interpreter, supporting medical team to convey clear messages and gather information from community.
∎ Engage with households and various facilities while accompanying the screening teams.
∎ Primarily collaborate with the medical team at both the community and facility levels.
∎ Join focus group discussions and attend meetings with community leaders alongside the deputy PC and HP team
∎ Assist the medical team in understanding the context and culture of the community and ensure accurate
∎ interpretation.
∎ Be flexible and ready to provide any additional support required by the supervisor.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Contract and Benefit
∎ 12 months contract renewable based on performance and operational needs. Salary according to Level Three (3) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 39000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
∎ Others
∎ There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
