Experience:
Bachelor of Business Administration / Supply Chain Management / Agriculture / Economics or relevant discipline
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) / Supply Chain / Procurement (Preferred)
Proven experience in spot buying of grain crops (corn/soybean/paddy/mustard etc.)
Strong knowledge of grain quality parameters (moisture, impurities, grade, storage, risks, rejection control)
Hands-on capability in Buy–Sale trading process including pricing, margin tracking, settlement, and documentation
Proven leadership experience in P&L, sales, sourcing, or distribution within trading or CV sector
Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship skills
Willingness to travel frequently and work in field-based sourcing markets
Must be proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Gmail)
Must be tech-savvy in reporting, data analysis, record keeping, and digital documentation
Ability to prepare daily/weekly market reports and maintain structured purchase records

Akij Resource is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Manager/Deputy Manager – Spot Purchase of Grain Crops to lead the spot procurement of grain crops such as corn, soybeans, paddy, mustard seeds, and other seasonal crops based on business demand. The role requires strong market intelligence, price negotiation skills, supplier network development, and solid quality assurance knowledge to ensure timely sourcing with the right quality at the best landed cost. The position is field-intensive and involves regular market visits, supplier engagement, and coordination with logistics, inventory, and finance teams to ensure smooth Buy–Sale trading and supply continuity.
Responsibilities & Context
Source and purchase grain crops from farmers, traders, and local suppliers as per demand and market availability.
Visit markets regularly, assess crop availability, and take timely buying decisions.
Negotiate pricing and terms to secure best rates without compromising quality.
Monitor market trends, seasonal factors, local demand, and price movements to forecast buying opportunities.
Inspect grain quality at purchase point and ensure compliance with company QA/QC standards.
Coordinate with QA teams to resolve any quality deviations at receiving point.
Manage supplier relationships, develop reliable sourcing zones, and ensure supply continuity.
Coordinate logistics and transport for on-time delivery to warehouses/factories.
Maintain accurate documentation for purchase orders, delivery, stock movement, and agreements.
Track landed cost, monitor budget, and improve profitability through smart sourcing decisions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.
