Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

• MBA or additional professional certification in Supply Chain/Transport Management will be an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of fleet management and vehicle maintenance.

• Good understanding of diesel and petrol engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics.

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and workshop management.

• Familiarity with BRTA regulations, vehicle registration, insurance, and compliance requirements.

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and vendor management skills.

• Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and fleet management software/ERP systems.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Manage the company's transport operations, including fleet planning, scheduling, and vehicle allocation.

• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of all company vehicles, including trucks, pickups, buses, cars, forklifts, and motorcycles.

• Ensure maximum fleet availability through effective maintenance planning and monitoring.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

• Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, mileage, repair costs, and maintenance expenses.

• Ensure compliance with BRTA regulations, vehicle fitness certificates, route permits, insurance, and tax token renewals.

• Manage transport vendors, garages, spare parts suppliers, and service providers.

• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance history, fuel usage, and operational costs.

• Lead and supervise transport officers, drivers, mechanics, technicians, and support staff.

• Investigate accidents, coordinate insurance claims, and implement corrective actions.

• Ensure road safety standards, driver discipline, and compliance with company policies.

• Optimize transportation costs while maintaining service quality.

• Prepare monthly MIS reports, maintenance budgets, and fleet performance reports.

• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Distribution, Factory, Sales, and Administration teams to ensure smooth transportation support.

• Ensure workplace safety, environmental compliance, and implementation of 5S practices within transport and workshop operations.
