SARA Foundation is a non-profit, non-political, and voluntary development organization established on 1 September 2025 with a vision to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities across Bangladesh. The Foundation was founded by Md. Khurshid Alam with a strong commitment to social justice, inclusive development, and sustainable community transformation.
Registered under the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), SARA Foundation works at the grassroots level to address critical gaps in healthcare access, education, livelihoods, women’s empowerment, safe migration, and community resilience.
Job Summary
The Head of Foundation will provide strategic and operational leadership to SARA Foundation and will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of organizational strategies, projects, programs, human resource management, financial oversight, donor compliance, partnership development, and institutional growth.
The successful candidate will work closely with the management of JSK Group, the Foundation's senior management team, government authorities, development partners, donors, NGOs, private-sector organizations, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to SARA Foundation.
Develop and implement organizational strategies, annual work plans, and institutional priorities.
Ensure that Foundation activities remain aligned with organizational objectives and development priorities.
Identify opportunities for organizational growth, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
Represent the Foundation before government, donors, development partners, NGOs, private-sector organizations, and other stakeholders.
2. Program Development and Management
Lead the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of development programs and projects.
Ensure that projects achieve approved objectives, outputs, outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
Review project proposals, logical frameworks, budgets, implementation plans, and monitoring systems.
Supervise project managers and field teams to ensure quality service delivery.
Ensure effective coordination between program, finance, HR, administration, and field operations.
Identify implementation challenges and provide timely strategic solutions.
3. Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
Establish and strengthen effective Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL/M&E) systems.
Monitor project performance against approved indicators and targets.
Review progress reports and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Promote evidence-based program planning and decision-making.
Ensure that lessons learned and best practices are documented and incorporated into future programs.
4. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization
Lead fundraising and resource-mobilization initiatives for the Foundation.
Identify potential donors, development partners, CSR organizations, foundations, and funding opportunities.
Lead or support the preparation of concept notes, project proposals, budgets, and donor applications.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors and strategic partners.
Explore opportunities for institutional partnerships and corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding.
5. Donor Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, approved budgets, contractual obligations, and reporting schedules.
Review donor reports and ensure timely submission of high-quality reports.
Coordinate with finance and program teams to ensure accurate financial and narrative reporting.
Maintain proper documentation for audits, donor reviews, and organizational reporting.
6. Human Resource Management
Provide leadership and supervision to senior and project-level staff.
Support recruitment, staff orientation, performance management, and professional development.
Promote a positive, collaborative, accountable, and professional organizational culture.
Identify capacity-building needs and facilitate appropriate training and development.
Conduct or oversee performance evaluations of senior staff.
7. Finance, Administration and Operations
Provide strategic oversight of financial and administrative functions.
Ensure proper utilization of organizational and project resources.
Work closely with finance teams to monitor budgets, expenditure, financial controls, and compliance.
Ensure organizational procurement and administrative procedures are properly implemented.
Support internal and external audit processes.
8. Governance and Policy Development
Review organizational policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Recommend policy improvements to strengthen institutional governance and accountability.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
Support the Board and senior management in organizational decision-making and institutional development.
9. Government and Stakeholder Relations
Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant government ministries, departments, local authorities, development organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, and private-sector partners.
Represent SARA Foundation in meetings, workshops, conferences, and professional forums.
Develop strategic partnerships that contribute to the Foundation's programs and sustainability.
10. Gender, Inclusion and Safeguarding
Promote gender equality, social inclusion, diversity, and safeguarding across all programs and organizational activities.
Ensure that programs consider the needs of vulnerable and marginalized communities.
Promote safe, respectful, and inclusive working environments.
Ensure appropriate safeguarding principles are integrated into program design and implementation.
