Position: Manager – Social Research
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager – Social Research to lead the planning, implementation, and overall management of social research projects. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring high-quality research delivery, effective field operations, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders and meaningful contributions to proposal development and study design. The position requires a strong understanding of research methodologies and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and implementing social research studies, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure successful project execution.
Ensure data quality control, validation, and compliance with ethical research standards.
Lead and oversee field operations, including recruitment, training, and supervision of field teams
Ensure strict adherence to research methodologies, quality assurance standards, and ethical protocols
Contribute to the development of technical proposals and research study designs
Coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation
Maintain regular and professional communication with clients to ensure alignment with project requirements and timely delivery of outputs
Prepare, review, and submit high-quality progress reports, field monitoring reports, and final research reports in a timely manner
Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and quality standards in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field
Minimum 3–6 years of experience in social research, monitoring & evaluation, or consultancy work.
Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably in social research or development sector projects
Excellent communication, reporting, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of research tools, survey design, and data collection techniques.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA, R-programming or similar).
Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
Strong project management and organizational abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with NGO projects, development partners, or donor-funded projects.
Knowledge of monitoring & evaluation (M&E) frameworks.
Familiarity with digital data collection tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, ODK).
