Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

Meghna Hotel and Resorts Limited (MHRL), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) is going to build a country-leading Five Star Hotel & Resorts and Commercial Building with aesthetic and state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Dhaka City, Bangladesh. Currently, MGI is searching for Manager, Planning & Costing who will be responsible for developing and managing project budgets, overseeing cost estimation, ensuring accurate financial planning throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, and optimizing resource allocation for successful project execution. The position will report to the Project Director of MHRL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project schedules, integrating engineering, procurement, and construction timelines while leveraging site construction methods and sequences for optimal implementation.

  • Develop and maintain deliverable schedules, tracking progress and dependencies to facilitate timely project completion.

  • Create and monitor progress S curves, utilizing data analysis to track project advancement and ensure alignment with established timelines and targets.

  • Initiate the preparation and regular updates of various schedules including critical activity reports, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment with project objectives.

  • Coordinate the preparation and creation of schedules aimed at achieving crashed milestones, optimizing project timelines and resource allocation for efficient project execution.

  • Review project plans from contractors, comparing them to the Project Master Schedule for suitability and alignment with project goals.

  • Advise architects/consultants on optimizing material usage and technical detailing within the design concept to enhance project efficiency and quality.

  • Calculate project execution costs by analyzing the design concept, ensuring accurate budgeting and financial planning.

  • Develop technical specifications and requirements for a project to ensure clarity and alignment with objectives.

  • Conduct desk research to map current market trends for rates and materials, facilitating informed decision-making and cost-effective procurement strategies.

  • Assess material requirements and quantities and compile a comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to facilitate project execution and cost estimation.

  • Manage the process of floating tenders, negotiating, and finalizing rates to onboard contractors, ensuring cost-effective procurement and timely project execution.

  • Conduct site visits to perform quality checks and ensure that execution aligns with design and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) specifications, maintaining project standards and integrity.

  • Facilitate seamless communication between the design team and contractors to ensure execution adheres to the timelines.

  • Verify and certify vendor/contractor invoices for processing payments ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.

  • Manage project handovers and resolve any issues arising during the liability period to ensure seamless transition and client satisfaction.
