Project Brief:
The "Rapid Access to Diagnostics to Accelerate the Response to TB" (RADxAR) initiative is a project implemented by BRAC with support of the Aurum Institute. The project aims to accelerate equitable access to near point-of-care (nPOC/Mini Dock) tuberculosis diagnostics for high-risk, underprivileged, and remote populations. Its core objectives and activities include rapidly detecting active TB cases, bringing modern testing services to doorsteps via TB camps, slums, readymade garment (RMG) zones, and contact investigations, utilizing ultra-portable devices, supporting Bangladesh`s National Strategic Plan for TB Control to bridge national case detection gaps, and engaging stakeholders through national and district coordination, public-private hospital orientations, and laboratory technologist capacity building.
Job Purpose:
The Manager, MEAL will lead Monitoring and Quality Assurance functions for the RADxAR-TB Project, ensuring quality service delivery through robust monitoring, effective data systems, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-based decision-making aligned with national and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Monitoring & Quality Assurance (M&QA) strategy for the project, in consultation with the supervisor.
Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to the laboratory technicians, ensuring effective execution of monitoring tools, and effective nPOC laboratory implementation
Oversee the design, review, periodic upgradation and standardization of Monitoring tools, and checklists, with a strong focus on improvement of quality nPOC laboratory services.
Ensure quality-of-care standards are integrated into routine monitoring, supervision, and reporting across nPOC laboratories and community services.
Manage and optimize digital health data systems and dashboards, performance tracking, data analysis and timely reporting to the programme team and NTP
Conduct high-level field visits to assess nPOC laboratory service quality, validate data, identify systemic gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
Practice and promote organization’s gender policy and support implementation of gender equality and women empowerment at all levels.
Safeguarding responsibilities
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
