Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain compliance records and tracking system, and report regularly to department managers on progress of compliance reviews and tasks.
∎ Collaborate and work with senior and departmental leadership in identifying, reducing and mitigating potential or actual compliance risks related to law and internal policies.
∎ Draft, review and give opinions on proposals, policies and other documents on legal, regulatory and internal policy/procedure compliance matters, balanced against organizational mission and strategy, and with proactive measures and approaches to reduce legal exposure and legal risks, and optimal protection of legal interests.
∎ Develop, review and update the organizational policies, procedures and other documents regularly and as necessary. Analyse, report on and implement response to legal and regulatory changes. Design and conduct compliance related trainings.
∎ Manage, support, develop, review, monitor and implement systems, processes policies and procedures for anti-money laundering (AML) and combating financing terrorism (CFT) legal and regulatory compliance, data protection controller functions, and any other compliance function, in adherence to law and internal policies.
∎ Assist internal audit activities and responses within the department.
∎ Draft, review, conduct legal research, prepare memorandum and give opinions on legal, regulatory and
∎ internal policy/procedure compliance matters (including employment issues) and internal organisational documents, identifying potential risks, assessing the issues impacting risks and possible mitigations.
∎ Liaise with and monitor compliance matters referred to external legal counsel and consultants; ensure payment of professional bills, for legal, regulatory and internal policy/procedure compliance matters (including employment issues).
∎ Learn and perform other department jobs, including legal claims and litigation assessments,  operation/maintenance of CaseHub (online litigation database), and compliance related tasks.
∎ Supervise and maintain circulation by litigation staff of updates in relevant laws, internal organizational documents and legal developments, within the department.
∎ Communicate with Head Office staff regularly on activities, and with litigation team, if necessary, for performance of tasks.
∎ Visit tribunals, courts, arbitration, govt. offices, law chambers, other BRAC offices, enterprises, and other places for performance of tasks, as needed.
∎ Provide reports on a regular basis and as directed or requested, to keep department managers informed regarding progress of documentation reviews and tasks assigned.
∎ Understand and ensure organizational compliance organizational policies and procedures.
∎ Maintain confidentiality when preparing, sharing and storage of information and documents.
∎ Any other task assigned by the supervisor and department managers from time to time.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Excellent analytical problem solving: analyze complex tasks, develop options, thorough plans inclusive of alternatives.
∎ Gives in-depth, legal, focused advice, with organizational alignment and fit for purpose. Good at influencing others, negotiation and dispute resolution.
∎ Self-directed, highly adaptable and flexible, with proactive ability to effectively prioritise workloads, handle multiple simultaneous tasks and maintain operational efficiency,
∎ Implements initiatives and processes in order to set standards and reinforce a culture of integrity, quality, ethical behavior and responsibility across teams in the department.
∎ Able to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information, compliantly and ethically.
∎ High degree of professional ethics and integrity, and maintains confidentiality.
∎ Understands the different demands of a law department role versus an external lawyer role.
